what is your favorite (new) pc game and why

Well you see, I recently bought a new blazing fast computer, but since then I've only played like, farcry 2 and risen. The point of this thread was to find some new games I could play, while disguising it as a discussion topic.

Well... It has to be Command and Conquer 4 because it's the last game I bought and I have fun with it.

I'm just going to assume Team Fortress 2 won't count? It's only been out since October of '07, but that's all I've got.

Mhhhmmm...Pc games have kind of left me cold recently and I've played a lot of the modern blockbusters. Cod MW, Dragon Age, ME1+2 etc etc.

There have been a lot of good smaller games like World of Goo, Torchlight, Plants zs. Zombies.

Other than that from major releases, the Orange Box wasn't too shabby. Oblivion and Fallout 3 were decent, altough they (along with the newer Bioware titles) have no replay value for me. I keep coming back to 90's RPGs for the PC, don't know why. They just seem to have more meat to them.

If you're looking for a good game to check out your new rig with you might look into the game Cryostasis. I hear few people chiming it's praises but I thought it was a great (genuine) horror game.

I did the same thing as you when I bought this laptop you know, but all I do is play Tf2 on it regardless of what it can run.

Aye, Cryostasis would be my pick as well. I adored that game from beginning to end, even if the end of the game is a bit of a mind fuck. One of the best PC games i have bought in the past year with ME2 being runner up, at least it wasn't asaverage as the first one...just a little abover average.

bad Company 2's a great multiplayer game. Much more team-work friendly than MW2, I gather.
