This thread probably appeals to a very small demographic on here: those with knowledge of quantum theory and particle physics, but we'll see I guess. Instead of me listing them in a poll, as there are far more than eight, just reference the link, or use your knowledge.

My favorite is dark matter, because it's such a curious substance.

Well, since you're asking this on the Escapist....

The electron - I'm currently using trillions of them to communicate this message, and they're pretty much the main particle that makes modern technology work. Also, it's possible to explain all of chemistry (nearly) without considering anything else.

Quarks.
Those things are weird, as explained in the following two songs:

I like the Kaons. They've got their own Strangeness quantum number and are generally weird. You never know what particles a Kaon will decay into.

Gotta be the neutrino - the weakest, most pathetic and useless particle there is, with the added bonus that it really confuses Italians.

Gravitons are pretty fly. If they turn to be non-existent and have to choose a boring and predictable one like electrons.

The muon. Because I like the symbol used for it.
Also this.

I'm sad nobody said Gluons yet. It's the particle that brings it all together, man! Plus, it shows scientists have a sense of humour, because it is called a gluon, and sticks things together. I always like proving that they aren't all boring old farts.

My favourite class of particle is the Hyperons, because that's an awesome name. SO I guess out of those choices it'd be good old strangey.

Well better than resonances, fuck those guys

Gonna have to go photon. They never fail to confuse the shit out of me (which should give you a pretty good indication of just how much I know about sub-atomic physics(not much)).

Totally the tachyon. That or the Graviton.

Well played. Or maybe its like dark matter- theoretically there, but we're just incapable of interacting with it? We need to shoot some EA executives at each other at the speed of light to find out more.
