What kind of unusual settings do you want to explore? What do you want to see?

My idea for a new Bethesda IP.

So the year is 3000. It's a post-cyberpunk future which means everything is clean, green and made of glass and futuristic metal. You are Hiro Protagonist working as security for a powerful energy corporation. The same that invented the new clean near-unlimited power source. However, as always there is danger in the horizon and you are on a mission to face it.

Now obviously plot is not Bethesda's strong point but rather the world they create for you to explore and live in. Imagine futuristic looking cities ripped straight out of Mass Effect & Star Wars (Going for a clean look). Massive highways leading out from the city which you will drive on using your super cool future bike. You can stay on the safe road (except for pirates in jeeps/helicopters) or you can go out into the wilderness and explore the old world of caves, forests and mountains that are populated with all sorts of alien creatures.

There would also be aircraft to pilot, underwater bases to visit, maybe even ancient relics to discover. Maybe magic was thought to have disappeared and the plot may revolve around the fact that you are the first person in a millennium to display magical capability, not only that but magical creatures and beings seem to be returning as well so you have a Magic Vs. Tech plot. The combat being heavily gun based with work much like in Fallout but you can shoot spells with your off-hand Bioshock style.

Sounds like a mix between Shadowrun and...something else. Or maybe like Arcanum 2. Cool concept, I like it. But why Bethesda specifically?

A space city

with a biodome and all that shit. (Imagine High Charity but all of a sudden it could rain)

I'd go further but any and all hope for my own game idea would have a chance at getting shattered.

Prehistory. Some sort of exploration-focused game that takes cues from Cave of Forgotten Dreams and old-school dungeon crawlers would be really interesting.

I want to explore a place I don't understand automatically when loading it up. I want actual intrigue on the setting. I know that sounds vague but it is kind of the point. If I know what the world is about 5 mins after pressing start it fails in this regard. Sanitarium, Morrowind, and a couple others have provided such experiences for me in the past. I think just any place that is free of 'the expected' would work for me. You could do it in medieval fantasy, sci-fi, or even modern day. It needs to just not be predictable in setting and instead hold a lot of mystery and intrigue and shit that I don't understand right off the bat.

An entirely subterranean civilisation. With humanity forced underground after an apocalyptic event. It is a mix of caves, sewers, and high-tech bunker-cities. The deepest parts go to the border between crust and mantle. Deeper than the deepest mine. There would also be an element of claustrophobia. Large openings would be few and far between, and light an essential scarcity. I want to explore chaotic tunnels which are dark and dangerous by their very nature.

I WOULD NEVER PLAY THAT GAME EVER. But it'd be fun to see.
You mean a game set in Australia? Huh, now that I think of it, I can't think of any that take place there.

Still waiting for that underwater survival horror game.

Also, I would totally play a game set in the Aboriginal dreamtime. Some of their myths were pretty damn creepy.

Of course, some more steampunk, cyberpunk and punkpunk wouldn't go astray.

I used to have a similar avatar. It was the same, except instead of Rainbow Dash it was a generic brown pegasus. Then I changed to the Reaper logo you see here. What a great show ^^

have you ever played arx fatalis?
because that is what you just described as fantasy

i would like to see a scifi setting without humans. You are a robot and just wake up because somebody pulled you from a junkyard and you try to find out who build you since you are the only one of your model around. And the level of technology differs hugely between planets and the only reason you can function on all of them is because you can just adapt easily to your surroundings by changing parts.

I heard of it when I googled Arkane Studios after hearing about Dishonoured. I didn't read all that much about it, though.

Now I'm definitely interested.

A game where it combines Parkour and Sniping. So you run from point to point with a spotter,(or you can play as spotter) parkour style. So the realism would be off the charts, actual sniping tactics would have to be implemented, like no more than two shots from one point in a snipe-out.
Setting up your spot would be in the game. So your spotter would get out his/her equipment and so would you and vice a versa.
Multiplayer is available, so you can play spotter and your friend can play shooter, or vice a versa. And the opposition would also be working together as well. And their will also be other sniper teams on your sides.
Infiltration and extraction is also in gameplay. So can you do awesome James Bond stuff like, HALO jumps and the Fulton air recovery system.
Also a focus on weight, so if using a Barrett, you will have to depart the upper and lower receiver and the spotter and sniper will have both have to carry the weight, so you can do parkour gameplay.
Obviously being a realistic sniping game, it would require alot of waiting. So the setting would change from the amazon and cities(New York and Toyko). Meaning there would be civilians to see whether they are a threat. Or animals that distract you from the mission. So some of the gameplay would be waiting and watching, just to juxtapose the climatic parkour.

There aren't enough games set in prehistory. A game where you're a caveman/woman gathering food, finding shelter and trying to not get eaten by dinosaurs. A survival of the fittest RPG where you're an animal trying to work your way up the food chain.

I think the original Crash Bandicoot is supposed to take place there. I could be wrong though.

OT: I have no idea.

This.

I really miss games that put in a world, give you a task, and lets you figure out how to accomplish it. Old spacecraft style games like Star control 2 and Starflight did this amazingly well. You were just picking up the rules of the game while you build your ship, or you talk to the first human you meet to figure out tonnes of tips and tricks, before you really get the hang of everything.

When I pick up a game, I want to learn things the hard way. I don't want hints during loading screens. I don't want a book for every implant or weapon to read.

This also sounds pretty cool. Though, I'm a bit of a sucker for Co-op.

A malleable world. A world where the entire world is made of a super-material that can alter any property of itself in a localized area, and sometimes causing changes to the area in massive land upwellings. One moment you could be walking through the jungle, when suddenly, the entire landscape turns to pink goo. You get sucked underneath and claw your way back out, only to find the jungle has been replaced by a wasteland made of blue sand and purple and teal eyestalks are jutting out of the ground. This type of thing could happen at any moment. It could make a huge impact on whatever story it's injected into.

Deserts. I know there's been a few lately that dabble in the setting, like Uncharted 3, but I think that an open-world RPG like Skyrim set entirely in a humongous desert could be really cool. There would be few cities, mostly concentrated on the coast or around the occasional oasis, but with a vast emptiness between them, filled with ruins, bandit strongholds, isolated forts and towns, entire cities buried in the sand, and the skeletons of enormous animals.
