And I don't mean family, I mean a friend who claims that they're a brother?
Here's the criteria i was told by that person
>We knew each other for a while
>We got troubled by the same person
>"We made a huge comeback with our lives"(I really want to know what his
definition of "comeback" is)
>Parents acting like assholes.
>We never really had girls in our lives(Well he had a GF recently and I like
like being single actually)

Addendum:He does call me yeah i don't mind that at all and yeah he is in some tough situations
but he acts as if i owe him my attention(at least that's what i percieve) and the
minute i don't he goes apeshit and and acts like if he's oh so humble and figured it
all out in life and blaming the way he's acting on me as if he has some kinda
disassociative disorder.

So do you think that all what i listed up there constitute a being a brother or is that just merely a coincidence? I'm kinda leaning more to the latter. Also, if you can, please say what you think constitutes as such.

You gotta finish the [color] tag with a [ /color] to make something green.

And as for being a brother, I would say someone you've been through a lot with. Doesn't have to be a long period of time, if your friend was there for you all the time while you went through...say cancer, then he could be a brother.

I don't know, I thought it was just an abstract concept, don't think there's any specific requirements or reasons for it, I think it's just a way you feel about the person, I'm pretty sure there are all sorts of different reasons that make people feel like brothers, or just family if you will.

So yeah, it varies on a case by case basis, you can both feel like you're brothers for completely different reasons, maybe those are his reasons, they don't have to be yours though.

Well, I had a "brother". We were really close for eight years, we liked the same stuff, we covered for each other and when one of us got into trouble the other would do his best to pull him out of it.

Then he got into smoking, gangs and drugs. Followed by jail.

But I suppose what I'm getting at is that he should be someone you've gone through a lot with, and would trust with your life.

Green text thread? Its just like /k/....

OT: For me to consider someone a brother basically,

>Be there for each other in bad situations and good ones.
>Be willing to take physical, mental, and emotional pain for each other.
>Be able to be fighting yet still look out for one another

Some pretty general yet important qualities. I honestly don't understand how the things you listed make someone a brother.

Green writing? I feel fancy.

-To have an almost unbreakable connection
-To not feel obliged to help but want to.
-To be willing to take pain for one and other.
-To have complete faith in each other.

I have someone who's like a brother to me who I'd gladly leave my life in their hands or lay down my life for.
I'm sure he feels the same.
As for those you've put up, I feel they're more of just him describing his "brother" and not why he considers him one.
I'd say his big thing is Common experiences.

I'd say:

You have to have been through a lot of major life situations/experiences with each other.

Never tried the color on here before.

>Always got my back
>Deals with my bullshit
>Will have real conversations with me not just grunts and typical guy shit
>Experienced some crazy major life events with me

I don't usually use the term but I have one 'brother' and one 'sister' and they're the best people I know in this world.

I always saw them as sort of like, a male sister. Of sorts. I never had any brothers, though, literally or metaphorically. I didn't even have any male friends until I was 19 or 20.

My best friend considers a few people brothers, including me and at least 2-3 others who are also my best friends. I consider him one too, i'm not too close with my real old brother since he's about 8 years older than me and the oldest in my family. We're fine talking and being friendly though when we see eachother.

My best friend is to me, a brother though with how much we've been through together through secondary, how much we support eachother and how we just have great fun and have the same interests.

>Everyone starts using green text
>Spaghetti in my pockets

OT: I think someone classifies as a brother if they're a good friend & they're pretty dependable. It's not massively demanding criteria for me at least.

a brother is a friend who has gone beyond the expectations and status of a "best friend" (a friend helps you move a couch, a BEST friend helps you move a body) he's the friend that's there for you through thick and thin and can be relied upon to help in nearly any situation. and you for him. he's the one who you can go to for anything, and helps you with your problems. and you for him. you two may not get along ALL the time, but you have enough in common to keep you going. you're the friends that can have a tremendous argument about something big or even something petty, and it's all forgotten a few minutes later. a brother is the friend that acts like family. and is there for you even when family isn't.

of course i mean "he" and "brother" in a non-gender-specific way, females can be "brothers" too.

i grew up with a crap family. nearly everyone in my family hates each other and if we ever had a family reunion, it'd be weeks before they got all the blood out. i had a pair of friends in high school who were more like family then my actual family was (and still is) we all had our own problems, but we helped each other through it and get really close over the years. we still talk, though not as much as i'd like, despite being on different sides of the US (my own damn fault). i am proud to call them "brothers"
