What makes a guy attractive?

So...yeah, this again. I've made this before, but now I'm more interested in not personality vs physical, but rather what physical part is preferred. As we all should know, guys look at roughly three to four places, face, chest, hips and legs [If you count it separate from hips]. As I have recently found out, women have preferred tastes in appearances as well as personality, similar to guys but not exact.

As an example, I have recently been informed that I have "sexy hands." My response was "...They're my hands...I pick stuff up with them. How is that sexy?" But then it struck me, I love them hips and legs, but a girl could easily say "They're legs. I walk with them." Or "It's my ass, I sit on it." At the same time, my very close friend has a thing for necks, which she shyly admits for whatever given reason.

So my question is what would be the common likings for women about men? What is the male body's version of "Dat Ass" so to speak?

EDIT: When I say I recently discovered this, I mean it dawned on me that women don't really like the say ass, chest, face combination that guys do. I knew women had preferences, but I found out that my initial thought was either wrong or missing something.

Look at a guy wearing suit.

Suits are designed to flatter the male form.

Most noticeable are the accentuation of the shoulders and chest.

I've been told I have a nice ass.
But they haven't seen my pale ginger ass outside of clothes...

This. I find it disconcerting that girls tell me I have a nice ass. I never think about it, and it makes me self conscious. Also, apparently I have nice eyes, though I haven't heard many girls put emphasis on eyes before, so it can't be that important.

It varies, it varies, it varies. Just like some men go for the rear, and some go for the chest. That's not really something that you can change anyway, unless we're talking weight/muscle defintion here.

I think the basic underlying quotas for both sides can be discovered by asking one question. "What are signs that this person is healthy." This helps draw a line between nicely thin verses being anorexic and pleasantly chubby against morbidly obese. For guys, I'm guessing that muscles are a first sign of being fit but overdoing it can hint at behavioral issues that can turn potential suitors away. Overly boney sections have the same effect. It probably has something to do with biological security that has been drilled into our DNA over the generations, just as most of the stuff guys look at can be classified as signs of fertility.

All the above is the physical part, social interaction plays a huge role as well. Try to be nice but have some confidence as well.

My girlfriend frequently tells me I have a manly, sexy neck. I don't get it but that doesn't mean I'm not flattered. She also adores my broad shoulders.

In my experience, girls like asses as much as guys do, and girls like toned figures, broad shoulders and manly, chiselled features (the usual stuff).
However, many young girls nowadays prefer effeminate men, hence the big emo culture that's been going on for far too long.

I used to be a weedy emo kid when I was about 16 and a lot of girls loved it (I'm not a ladies man at all, I just mean girls at the time were into that). But now I'm a fairly big, broad guy (AND I HAVE A BEARD!) and my girlfriend loves the manly, protective guy look. Good for me.

Depends on the individual, but you can generalize:

If the girl is in the / near the fertile period of their cycle, she will look mostly for traits that show high testosterone and vigor (big hands (especially the finger ratio), strong jaw, wide shoulders).

If not she will focus on traits that denote stability and an amicable character.

At any rate, health, strenght and simmetry are bonuses. Google it, there have been extensive studies in this and you will find better info than asking in forums.

Ah yes, that abstract thing that nobody really knows what it means. *chuckle*

Yes, I see where you're coming from, but the definitions of "confident" I've seen online range from "satisfied with oneself" to "dickhead", with all the flavors in between.

Physically, i've always been told hair, chest, shoulders, facial features and weight. (Told by girls, mind you, I actually got curious and asked because fuck it, why not)

Otherwise, just turn on the confidence button.

edit: By confident, I mean don't be a stuttering can't talk, but at the same time don't be a thundering prick who doesn't listen to anyone. Just, don't be afraid to smile and talk to them like they're not a pair of walking boobs.

It's all in the face and not worrying what makes you attractive, being a real living person aware of yourself and not treating a woman like a queen but as a fellow human being. Having the confidence to drink when you want, dance when you want and keeping Memes and video games to yourself(I find most video game culture so tedious)

I fell for my fiance's eyes. It wasn't necessarily the rare color, or the shape, but it felt like I could see his personality through them.

Dunno if anyone else has noticed this, but have you seen someone that you would say is perfect physically, but they have eyes closer to a cow's? Absolutely empty. I hate that, absolutely.

So once i saw the confidence and ingenuity (or what I thought I saw) from his eyes, I was instantly attracted to him.

Doesn't hurt that he has the best ass I have ever seen for a man either.

I mostly look for personality traits, or at least I used to when I dated. If my fiance had been an ass, his body wouldn't have mattered. Its his personality that pulled me in, his body is just a bonus.

I haven't got a clue. Reading the above comments confuses me, simply because I seem to have a girlfriend who finds me attractive in spite of all the above things I lack.

Also, on another point, I have a couple of scars across my stomach from an operation I had as a kid, and for some reason my girlfriend seems to think they are incredibly sexy, and she's not the first girl to voice this opinion either. I don't suppose anyone has a clue about that one? Because I can never get a decent answer other than "They just . . . are."

Apparently I have nice teeth. Is that so rare? I don't think so. So I'm just an average guy. An average who cannot grow respectable facial hair. As for eyes, I have tiny eyes, so no compliments of eyes to me. As for my arse/ass/bottom/back-vagina? I have a very visible indent due to my left hip deciding not to grow the same size as a normal human hip. Also I have the tiniest hands imaginable. Seeing as I am male, this basically means; fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-.

tattoos, piercings (this includes dermals, subdermals, stretched lobes, lip/nose/ear piercings). Eyebrow piercings I've never liked for some reason, always looks... trashy to my eyes.

Their taste in music (at least similar to mine).
Looks good in a suit
A nice smile/eyes.
Hair. God I love a man with long hair
Able to laugh at the silliest things (bad joke/puns etc)
Able to not take himself or life too seriously

That's not universal either.

Anyway, I'm a bisexual, and my favourite body shape is not this

or this

But this

But I'm some kind of androgyny-sexual.

Hasn't happened to me at all.

confidence.

It doesnt matter if you are fit or fat - if confident women will enjoy you and your company.
