I was browsing the Gaming Discussion forums and couldn't help but notice that the most popular thread on the front page, with 9 pages of comments and almost 5,000 views, was "What don't modern rpg's have scythes?" This seems very strange to me... Anyways, I'm wondering what in a thread makes you all want to post. Is it if the original post is short and easy to read? If you can give a quick answer? If it's about scythes? Maybe it's not something you can describe but whatever here's a thread to post in if you know. Cheers.

Topic first off. Number of current replies second (I don't want to rant for nothing), and Discussion index third (politics/religion is a war-zone I don't dare wander into).

We just had this thread last week methinks...

OT: I just look into a thread and if it interests me and I can contribute something, I will post. Simple enough, neh?

There is no discussion on the Escapist, and therefore I leave my thoughts on the matter in a topic because I like to think I actually matter sometimes.

... This post has too much angst for my liking. Let's balance that out.

Because everyone is entitled to my opinion[/arrogance]

Slightly more seriously, I have no idea. Sometimes the topic interests me. Sometimes it infuriates me. Sometimes I comment for the sake of commenting, other times I refrain from commenting to avoid the banhammer. It is incredibly context sensitive.

Title, then if the OP has anything interesting to talk about, then if I have anything to add to discussion. At least, that's how it is in most cases for me.

I post usually for my own benefit... I always feel better when I've posted my thoughts on something, feels like it gets a load off my mind. It's a just a bonus when it leads to a discussion.

Unless i'm directly responding to something someone has said anyway.

Yeah... I need to write something here, because just a 'This' doesn't pass forum rules.

I like the pineapplez?

To be honest, you would have been my 3rd or 4th, "This", tonight. And I'm pretty sure they don't get modded for just one word, since it has a quote, but who knows.

Yeah, pretty much this. I'm around on the website all the time, but I don't really post anything much unless I actually have something to contribute. Which wouldn't be all that often I'd say.

If I can add a little red sprinkle onto a ten story cake, I will. Because cake tastes better when you contribute.
