Lets imagine for a moment that you've kidnapped the president of the USA, or you've saved their life from something and you have some time to kill before they goes back to doing their presidenty things that take up all of their time. During this time, you say, "hey, wanna watch a movie?" and they agree.

What movie would you watch with the president of the USA?
Something innocent like Toy Story or Cars? Or something thought provoking like Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind or Lord of War?
Same question and parameters for the leader of your country (or any country of your choosing if you're so inclined) ?

You can also decide to watch any video on youtube or anywhere else on the internets, but it can only be 1 video, no series' allowed. And no cheating like, "well someone made a video that combines every episode of Firefly into one video on youtube, so we'd just watch that video, which would be the whole series of Firefly!" that kind of ruins the point of this thread...

So? What video would you watch with the US president/your country's leader and why?

I'd rather shoot both of my eyeballs with a rusty nailgun before watching a movie with *my* president. But I'll sit down and watch Apocalypse Now with the US president any time, maybe have a chat afterwards.

Our Prime-minister is a history major, so I think it might be quite fun to watch some (realistic) historical movie. Maybe Lincoln when it finally is released over here. Assuming there's some time to chat about the subject as well.

No idea if there's anything I would enjoy watching/chatting about with our Queen though. I don't really know what she enjoys (besides painting/art), Mona Lisa Smile maybe, that's about art en feminism and stuff (and still a fun movie).

The US president? Erm... I don't really know... I'd probably ask him to recommend me something...

"The Ides of March" might be an interesting movie to watch with the President. He could give me his personal campaign experiences while we watch it.

I would never do that though, because it would probably be very akward sitting on a couch with the President for 2 hours.

Fight Club.

Thought-provoking? Yes. And very, very real, in the sense that the issues addressed in the film are very authentic. Hopefully it also steers the ship of the Sandy Hook Shooting controversy in a better direction: one that makes it easier for those who need help to get it.

I would watch either:
Django Unchained, simply because the movie is such a good time.
Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans because it is my favourite movie of all time
Super because I want to see the look on his face when the movie's effect sets in
UP because then I would have shared a manly cry with the most powerful man on the planet.
Or just say f*ck it and start a LOTR marathon. Afterwards we will be brothers.

Birth of a Nation or Coal Black and De Sebben Dwarfs. Because this is how I troll.

I'd watch something that hasn't been released yet. Because what studio would say "no" to a pre-screening for the US President?

Am I going to get first crack at "Idiocracy"? I didn't think I'd get first dibs at that.

Screen version of the "Green mile". It is one of the best movies based on Stephen Kings works.
