Just started a game of Sins of a Solar Empire listening to Sigur Ros, which was fine to start off with. Then the pirates started wiping out my planets and everyone ganged up on me, so I put Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium on and got a bit more warlike. Still lost, though.

Sorry if this is boring, but I usually listen to the in-game music. Though if it sucks, I put on alt-rock, metal, techno, even rap sometimes.

i usually listen to black stone cherry or bullets and octane, i like to listen to stuff that kind of suits the game i'm playing though so with elder scrolls games and slower paced stuff i tend to listen to comedians cds like patton oswald or eddie izzard.

i'm still pissed that halo 3 throws a temper tantrum when you want to listen to your own music. they litterally tell you they will turn off all sounds if you play your own music through the dashboard, and then they do it. total dick move on their part.

Playing a sports game, baseball, hockey, or boxing, it has to be punk, Pulley, Dropkick Murphy's or the Bouncing Souls.

FPS's require a bit more, and I'll usually listen to Alexisonfire, Satanic Surfers, and 'the classics' (Metallica, Ac/DC, etc)

Strategy/RTS/puzzle games... it's all Eels. It helps my mind focus, I think.
