What new Xbox game should i get and why?

i just finished up getting all the achievments on my long-lost copy of assasins creed, and now i have no other single player games to play. ( i dont have a WiFi thingy so i cant play live. )
so im just wondering what other xbox games have a good single player story to keep me busy.

here is a list of games i already own:

Assasins Creed
Bioshock
Both gears
Halo 3 legendary
and Fallout 3

any game suggestions would be nice and thank you in advance

As for reasons, there are tons of reviews on the both that are much more involved than any reason I would give. My reason is merely, "because I had fun playing them".

lol that one actually kept me busy for a while, i just forgot to list it and my friends all say totry mass effect, but im kinda confused on the plot of it can someone explain?

and on a side note, i just just found a place that sells oblivion with the shivering isles expansion for 19 bucks, so im going to be getting that tommorrow, thanks escapist!

If you want a fun little game that is cute and will take the time out of your life go with Viva Pinata, I know I know it looks like a child's game, but there is WAY MORE TO THAT! Way more, it is one of those games you can pick up and play but you really aren't doing anything unless you study.

Its about 20 bucks. You also could afford another game after you get this one.

You can connect to Xbox LIVE with an ethernet cable. No need to spend $100 of some cheap wireless adapter.

Mirror's Edge if you like platformers or non-vehicle racing.
Tales of Vesperia if you like JRPGs. Wait, you forgot to list. NM.
Operation Darkness if you like SRPGs.
GTAIV for sandbox mayhem.
Rock Band 2 if you need a party game. Solo play gets boring after awhile.
Rent RE5 if you have a friend to play split-screen with. Solo and online co-op suck.

Spoiler: Expect spelling errors. Some confusing spellings in that game. Plus I have not played it in about 6 months, so I may be off.

Tarica Lumeras' life force is Aer. The entalekaya watch over the aer by absorbing excess aer from aer krena (the sources) and destroying anything that requires too much aer. Normal life can be supported by aer without problems. Blastia was invented as the worlds machines, but they require too much aer. Blastia cores are fragments of gems that entalekaya turn into when they die, and is a physical form of aer. Blastia are actually remains of an ancient civilization that was wiped out due to aer problems, which caused the adafogos to appear. The adafogos was sealed away by Zauda structure, but did not kill it. Commadant Alexia misunderstands how aer really works, and belieaves that he can control all of it and rule the world. Instead, he unleashes the adafogos at Zauda. By sacraficing all the worlds blastia cores, the heroes create spirits, which are stronger meta-physical entalekaya. Then the spirits destroy the adafogos.

how is lost odyssey btw? i've been looking at it but i really am getting tired of realistic looking RPGs...god i wish somebody would bring back breath of fire and do it right

Actually, in late summer DDO: Unlimited (the free version) is coming out, and it is the best MMORPG there is (although that isn't really saying much). But it's very fun to play, free, and completely awesome. But it's for PC... as for Xbox, every good game has pretty much been said, but if you get bored, this is a great alternative.

If you're trying to play it as a straight-up shooter? Yes. If you understand the concept of "RPG"? Then no.
