What Pokemon would you get as a pet?

I just read an article called Pikachu in the Family. It got me thinking (duurrr), what would you guys have as a pet, that was also a Pokemon?

For me, it'd either be Growlithe or Togetic.

Arceus, I want to be able to say I tamed a god as my pet. Actually nah, not really. I doubt the nearest pet store sells god chow and not even taking into account the amount of effort to take care of it.

I say Ninetails, because it's foxxy and foxes are cool

Going to be really boring here and say Ash's Pikachu. Small enough to hold, cute, furry, funny personality Any Pikachu would be good, but there's a little more to Ash's.

Other than that, Eevee I guess. Or maybe Farfetch'd. Or Jigglypuff. Bear in mind I'm basing this solely off the first generation - only have a very rough knowledge or Gen 2, and know pretty much nothing about Gen 3-5. There could be many fantastic pets lurking the later generations that I just don't know about

While it isn't my favorite Pokemon (I'd probably put it at number 3, behind Wartortle and Dragonair), I've always thought Flareon would make an awesome pet. It's like a big, fluffy puppy. That can shoot fire.

Yeah, Flareon is adorable. I wouldn't mind having that as a pet. I would also want a Pidgey since I love birds. I'd have it perched on my shoulder.
