its REDICIOUSLY short and most people buy it for the MP why dont they make it a MP to begin with? it would allow them to pour more time and money in the maps and allows them to work out more bugs for example TF2 most people hate it with all the updates but its a amazing game because they put all their money and resource into it
PS I realy like the SP but it feels more like its tacked on and too short
PPS I dont think the SP is bad its just too short to justify the 60$ price tag

Because not all people agree with you, and enjoy playing the single player.
I've found all of the Call of Duty single player portions to be good, personally.

It's just a holdover from the days before multiplayer really took off. I'm not sure why they bother either, a lot of people don't actually play the campaign.

ALOT of people buy COD for the Campaign. More people have an Xbox offline, then have one online, that's why.

Because they usually tend to be good.

Story-wise, they're a mixed bag. But the campaigns are usually fun.

CoD4 doesn't get all the praise for it's MP alone, you know. Campaign was epic.

Because people like them, and don't always have an internet connection.
Kind of hard to sell a multiplayer only game to people who have choppy/no internet.

The only single player I wish they hadn't bothered with was Black Ops'. Modern Warfare 2's was incredibly silly, but I still had a good time playing it, and thus am happy that it was made.

Because people play it and enjoy it. If you don't like it then don't play it. Also the bugs are not due to there being a singleplayer the bugs are due to no public beta testing.

Well, Call of Duty was first awesome and popular because of it's great campaigns. Sure, 1 and 2 had great multiplayer but it really kicked off in 4. It's a shame as they arguably put a lot more time and effort into the single player, but most people don't even finish it, much less try it. Just check random peoples achievements/trophies online and you will see most people haven't even tried it.

Save for MW2, Ive enjoyed the campiagn in most COD games. Plus its good for getting a feel for the game before jumping into MP.

I couldn't disagree more. I'm a story gamer through and through, and the increase in focus on multiplayer in just about every game now is something I hate. How about, instead of pumping out an almost identical game very year, the developers take their time and craft both a quality single and multiplayer experience?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Black Ops, both alone and on Xbox Live, but the singleplayer story is very important to me.

Since when does short = bad?

The CoD4 campaign was no longer than MW2 or Black Ops, and people cant stop masturbating to how "awesome" it was.

I liked the Black Ops(not Blops. That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen) campaign. It was original, and most of all, fun.

This, it helps you get acclamated to the game and its mechanics. Also they are really well done. (Cliffhanger in MW2 Anyone?)

Because plenty of people enjoy watching shit blow up (including me). I just enjoy playing through the sp, just to see some crazy action sequences. I like the gameplay and don't really care about the COD story.

If story is important to you, why are you playing CoD?

I mean yes, if they did good stories then I'd be interested still, but all they've ever produced have had either non-existent, incoherent or dull stories.

Just because it's COD does not mean it should be excused from having a good storyline of decent length. COD 4 led the player through an engaging experience much longer than that of MW2 with characters that were truly likable.
