Someone here suggested "Yuu" since it fits with the whole "It's a console for you" idea as well with the funky "Wii" pronunciation. Anyone else have suggestions?
...I kid. I think Wii U is pushing it a little far with names, but Yuu looks weird and would lead to interesting conversations in stores.
"I'd like the new Yuu please..."
Although it seems kind of drawl, their safest bet probably would have been to just call it the Wii 2.
I was honestly pretty down with the name when the rumours were it was just going to be called "Nintendo". Sure as hell better than WEE YOO WEE YOO WEE YOO.
I refer to the silly console name as WiiWoo and that is what I shall continue to call it. I spent enough on a 3DS that has no good games currently; I do not plan on wasting my time on a new overhyped console. Heck, the rumors of it being called Beem were better than the Wii U. What's the big difference from the Nintendo DS / Wii era to the Nintendo 3DS / WiiU era? One extra character in the names and a bunch of reboots.
tl;dr or off topic tangent: Basically, any of the rumors would have been better than the Wii U.
How about the Ultra 64? Or the Dolphin! Nintendo DS Home?
That's all I've got really. Based on Nintendo's past* we may have another Wii around 2018 when the next, next-gen of consoles starts to arise.

[sub]The Gamecube was made by Nintendo but it was simply the Gamecube. The Gamecube is now officially the odd system out since it is neither a Nintendo or a Wii.[/sub]
