What should we do with the moon?

It's been over 40 years since we landed on the moon on July 20th, 1969, and in that time, the moon has transformed in the public eye from a glorious glowing entity to just another piece of rock that floats around the earth.

Today, the moon just sits there, doing absolutely nothing.

Imagine, if you would, that you just bought the moon, if you could. What would you do with it?

Live on it?
Colonize it?
Eat it?

..........

In short, if you had the power, what would YOU do with the moon? Remember, you can do ANYTHING with it.

[small]The moon is bored. Do something with it.[/small]

We've still got our eyes on you moon!

[small]There, I made the Unskippable reference so you don't have to :)[/small]

I want to blow it into chunks. And make the Earth have rings!
That'd be much cooler than one giant orb.

Do I have enough money left over to paint the entire thing? It'd be neon green when I finished.

I'd build a giant space cannon and shoot the moon at mars. Damn aliens.

But then we wouldn't have tides.

That would really mess us up.

We should just paint the moon pretty colours.

Edit: Ninja'd!

I dont know. As it is now, the moon is vital to our ecosystem here on earth. Adding mass may throw off our tidal schedule, so mass colonization may be out. Then again harvesting resources from in would decrease its mass, again affecting the earth. I say we leave it as is and admire it when we take that special girl out for a date.

That will screw us over more though.
Well, he just asked what we would do with it.
Not if it was reasonable/a good move.

I'd at least leave something big for people to remember me by!

Hippies won't shut up about landfills; turn the moon into a giant landfill. Hippies also won't shut up about nuclear dumping; dump it all on the moon. We could also do the reasonable thing and carve my name in it.

Put a big smiley face on it! The ring idea would be pretty cool though, except it would wreak havoc on our tides.

One must consider these three points:

1. Can I have sex with it?
2. Can I eat it?
3. If I can't shag it or eat it, then why should I tolerate it's existence?

I'll get the missiles ready.

I'd blow it to pieces, to give the earth rings, and then I'd pull Pluto over near us, and make it our new moon.

Won't be disrespecting Pluto now will ya?

EDIT: You know what? Fuck it.
I'll bring the moon to life.

"When you are the moon, the best form you can be is a full moon. And then the half moon... he's all right. But the full moon is the famous moon. And then three-quarters, eh, no one gives a shit about him. When does he come, two days in, to the calendar month? He's useless. Full moon. The moon. The main moon..."

sorry but if every single human went to the moon we would scarcely be able to measure any change. i seriously doubt we would. but you never now how precise scientific instruments are...
