So You Can't Always Get What You Want by the Rolling Stones just came on the radio, and it made me think, "This would be a kickass song to be played at a funeral. Maybe even mine!" If I had a will, I'd amend it now to include something about playing this song at my dead drop shindig.

But I digress...

What song (or songs, if you're a waffler) would you like to be played at your funeral?
Sorry to be such a downer, talking about funerals and all. But I think most people, when they go out, want to at least go out in style.

So what'll it be, Escapist? Share, with us, your stiff-stint tunesky.

And yes. I did a search. And yes. It's been done. But not for a long time. Get over yourself, will ya?

Naima by John Coltrane

If You Could See Me Now by Wynton Kelly

Also, I would like a jazz funeral.
It would be the best.

I wouldn't want a song to be played per se. An indoor funeral. Then right before they close the casket, Behemoth fall through the roof and start playing "Demigod." Also, strippers in corpse paint rise up from the ground.

Depends on how whimsical I'm feeling pre-mortem. The top two candidates are "Lamento Eroico" by Rhapsody or "Heart of a Dragon" by Dragonforce.

I'm not about to rule out "Sakuranbo" by Ai Otsuka or "Amaranth" by Nightwish.

Probably some death-metal. I like to fuck with people's heads.

Or, if they find that inappropriate, How To Save A Life by The Fray.
