Hiya escapists.

Today, my sister gave me a box of Bertie Bott's every flavour beans.
It was pretty cool. Basically jellybeans, only packed in a Harry Potter themed box as a gimmick.

...

Or so I thought, until I chewed over one that tasted like cat food.
I tried to eat another one to wash it away, but it tasted like bacon (which does not taste good in jellybean form).

So, escapists: Have you had any surprises today?

I went to this coffee shop that I visit regularly and tried a new blend of coffee that sounded gross at the recommendation of the guy behind the counter. I had low expectations on it but I figured he must know something I don't, or has very strange tastes.

The results were delicious and I really wish I remembered the name of it.

I got paid today, a day early,
for no reason other than my boss just felt like handing out checks today.

One of my roomie's friends is over, and brought her dog. Not only is the dog's tail bent at the end (looks like a zig-zag), but I'm almost 100% that this girl put the harness on upside down.

The dog's a real cutie and a sweetheart though.

Guild Wars 2's release date. Dear gods, I was screaming in joy for like, 5 minutes. And I'm never excited for any video game to come out, yet I'm wondering why this was the exception.

I just saw on the front page that a judge ruled that raid on Megaupload was illegal. I mean, I was sort of prepared for the healthcare thing to go either way, but that one sort of made me think, "Damn, son."

It occurred to me that there's probably been about 7 or 8 girls who in hindsight I probably should've/could've dated. This was surprising because it's about twice as many as I would've guessed before I actually thought about it.

The part with the spiders, no doubt.

OT: I finally found out the name of an author that I haven't been able to remember for at least a few months. It's John Christopher, for your information. And I was surprised ho easy it was to find, it made me facepalm and wander why didn't I try Google several months back.

Oh yeah, that caught me completely off guard.

Also, the fact that Valve then did this shouldn't surprise me, but it does anyway.

Can I have your boss please?

Italy beating Germany in a most entertaining fashion, with 2 lovely goals from Mad Mario Balotelli. Taa raa Germany!

Also, the estate agents from my old flat decided to give me my whole deposit back, with not a penny deducted. And here I was thinking all estate agents were money scrubbing spawn of the devil...

Both rather pleasant surprises.

Same here well except for the screaming and more like this-
I do admit I'm not my usual self today as I got little sleep last night (probably due to playing the GW 2 stress test beta yesterday).

I'm surprised that the Pulsefire Ezreal skin in League of Legends isn't out yet on the EU West servers. I want that skin and I don't even own the damn Champion! Come on Riot what are you doing with it?

Oh and the fact that Persona 4 Arena still hasn't got a EU release date. I've heard rumours about the 31st. That is a completely unacceptable release date compared to the USA's 7th. This is me throwing money at my laptop. Fucking take it.

Double oh, looks like I won't be maining The Swagtagonist anymore after seeing Naoto's movelist... She has outswagged the MC in the most stylish way possible. Never saw that coming.

For anyone who is interested.

As for something more serious... No, I got nothin' go to the R&P forums if you want serious. I'm just here for the lolz XD

I'd say Germany getting beat by Italy or Balotelli putting in his best game of the tournament against one of the strongest sides.

An APC drove past me today. Not the kind of thing you see in Urban areas of England. Even moreso because an advert on its side told me that it was a freaking limo...

There exists a previous Liberal Democrat leader who I actually wouldn't mind running this country (Lord Ashton).

I also got a bad surprise of a back injury from running, that's rendered me immobile for most of the day. But every cloud has it's silver lining, and I found out that it's actually really easy to create basic levels with no interaction in game editors. I get the feeling that all the AI & game mechanics are the tricky part, along with fleshing out the details of the world, but it's surprisingly easy to get a very large world going in a couple of hours.
