Duke Nukem 3D around the age of.. 8? Not sure, it's so long ago.

EDIT: Why are there people saying they played games like Doom at the age of 2 or 3 years old? Most 2-3 years old I knew were in no way capable of playing videogames.

Some Mortal Kombat game that I played at my cousin's house. It was on the PlayStation if I remember correctly. I think I was six or seven.

I just remember a giant hand coming out of the side of the screen and squeezing Raiden until his head went boom.

It was pretty frightening at the time.

The first Mortal Kombat game, it came out when I was a kid and friends' houses and arcades were such amazing things in those days.

For a long time, I thought my first "M" game was GTA3. However, I resiliently remembered that my first "M" game* is MGS on the PS1. I forgot this because my dad bought it because he thought it looked like fun. After getting frustrated at the tutorial, we gave up. The game was then stashed and forgotten until I rediscovered the series and found the game and enjoyed it on my PS3.

*[sub]I wanted to say "that title" but I couldn't think of a way to say it that didn't result in me saying "that" twice in a row, hell, I said "that" more than I'd like to already.[/sub]

Now that I think about it, it may be a Mortal Combat game... Nah, maybe not.

Resident Evil 2... but I was only 10 when I played it on release and I sucked at it so just played a bit, got scared and was killed by a zombie.

I suppose the first 18 rated game I played any significant length of was GTA3.

I don't remember that far back but it may have been Quake II for the PS1 followed by GTA III when I was ten or something. Maybe even younger than that

Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, and my personal favorite Duke Nukem 3D, and all around the same time but I don't remember how old I was but it was preteen. Funny enough, though my parents are not and never was gamers, they are the ones that bought each and everyone of them for me.

Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior (I was about 10)

My dad didn't like it because blood came out of people when you shot them...

I don't know how long the rating system has been around, but I remember playing Monster Trivia for Commodore 64 when I was a kid, that was prety scary at the time. I also remeber playing Duke Nukem (shareware side scroller version from the school of old) and Doom of course. Splatterhouse might be the first I ever remember being very bloody so that I guess.

Probably Mortal Kombat. Though at the time i didn't even know the rating system existed. First conscious M rated game was like, devil may cry or something.
