Lately I have found myself out of nowhere, replay old school DOS games. I was 4 around the last time I played these, so my memories of them are poor. However recent conversations with friends had reminded me of games I had completely forgotten I had played but loved. Games that have basically made me the person I am today.

The games I remember the best/ loved the most were:
Supaplex
Jazz Jackrabbit
Commander Keen
Wacky Wheels
Tyrian
Battle Chess(could never win, but just watching the animations play out were cool for me)

So what were yours?

OMEGA and ADOM were my two favourites. "Do not meddle in the affairs of Wizards, it makes them soggy and hard to light".

You heard me. That's a DOS game.

You win for saying Tyrian though. That was gonna be my initial answer XD

You a chess player? Maybe we could play sometimes.

OT: Yeah, I guess I would have to go with Day of the Tentacle. Oh Lucasart, please come back to us.

Eye of the Beholder and X Com: UFO Defense. (which I'm playing right now!)

I haven't played a lot of DOS games, so I don't have a lot of favorites...

EDIT: Since the first "Fallout" is a DOS game, (I forgot that it was) I'll say that's one of my favorites as well.
[sub]Even though I couldn't get very far into the game because it kept crashing...[/sub]

The first 2 XCOM games. All the Old Lucas Arts games (Dig, Monkey Island) I'm sure there are others, just drawing a blank.

Those were the days where they had to make a good game based on the game, than just a sloppy mess of good graphics.

Yeah, Commander Keen and Doom were good fun, but Syndicate Wars is probably still my favourite DOS game.

Then there were others like Speedball 2 and Turrican, but they were both DOS ports from the Amiga and the DOS ports kinda sucked (low res, tinny sound, sticky controls etc).

Unfortunately my chess career ended when our computer got upgraded, and I forgot the name of the game. :(
