What Wii games out there are worth playing?

I'm planning to look through ebay, bargain bins, pawn shops, etc for some good wii games that I might have missed out on during the console's run. Right now wii games are dirt cheap and most retailers have started phasing the games out.

What are some decent, preferably niche wii games that are worth looking into? Doesn't need to be anything perfect or revolutionary, it can just offer a unique experience and I'd be fine with it. I'd like to squeeze a few final moments of life into my good ol' wii before it inevidibly spends the rest of its days in storage, y'know?

(Note that I already own No More Heroes, MadWorld, Epic Mickey, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, and am looking into getting my hands on Xenoblade, The Last Story, and No More Heroes 2.)

Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Monster Hunter Tri, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Sonic Colors, Kirby's Epic Yarn, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Paper Mario, and some others I've forgotten. There are a lot of great games on the Wii, you just have to look.

If I'm reading this right, you own a Wii without a single first party game on the system. This needs to change. I would definitely look at Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, as it is excellent (Skyward Sword is a bit more divisive, but still worth a look). Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Mario Galaxy are also must plays if you dig platformers. The Wii Kirby games are also supposed to be really good, although I haven't actually played any of them myself, as much as I want to.

Also, I'm going to list some Gamecube games, just because the Wii can play them and you didn't tell me not to. Metroid Prime is easily one of my favorite games of all time. Mario Kart: Double Dash is the best game in the series by far, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Finally, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is apparently really good (haven't played it myself, unfortunately), although you might be better off getting the prettied up Wii-U version if you have access to that system. I know for a fact that I'm for getting some good Gamecube games, and it's really pissing me off, so don't take this as a complete list.

Super Mario Galaxy (and its sequel apparently...I've yet to play it though), No More Heroes (and it's sequel blah-blah), Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Metroid Prime 3 (trilogy if you can find it), Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros and, Super Paper Mario.

If you're playing on an actual Wii, instead of a Wii U, I strongly recommend the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess. I have a strong bias against the motion controls used in Skyward Sword honestly. I also couldn't find the fun/appeal in Xenoblade Chronicles or, Last Story but they both played really MMO-like. As for Monster Hunter 3 Tri, it's a good game but Monster Hunter 3 U was more fun for me.

Pandora's Tower (it has multiple ending, a very disturbing story, think Majora's Mask), Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Okami, Guilty Gear X2 Accent Core, Sin and Punishment 2.

I highly recommend Xenoblade if you're an RPG lover

I'm fond of little king's story. It's a pikmin-eske strategy game. A bit on the short side, but very fun & adorable.

Hey, of course I own the first party games. :p What's the point in owning a Wii if you don't have Super Mario Galaxy, Sonic Colors, or Super Smash Bros Brawl? But yes, I'm aware of all the bestsellers. I'm mostly wondering if there's any good games that might have slipped under the radar.

I'll look into these. Sin & Punishment and Little King's Story in particular look interesting for titles I've never even heard of before. Thanks!

(Okami is way better on PS2, though)

I actually have a suggestion that has yet to be posted. In fact, it's a wonder why most people don't mention this hidden gem of a game. My choice is...

A Boy and His Blob

It is an adventure/puzzle game. If you are into this sort of thing, I highly recommend it.

Collector for the Wii here. Here are my MANY suggestions.

Actually, since I have so many to suggest, I'll put it in spoiler tags

Big name greats that many know:

Super Mario Galaxy 1+2
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Xenoblade
Super Paper Mario
New Super Mario Bros Wii (if you prefer more retro gameplay)
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Zelda: Skyward Sword (I personally prefer it over Twilight Princess, but to each their own)
Metroid Prime Trilogy (kinda hard to find, but currently not too bad in American Gamestops)
if the above can't be found, then get the first two for Gamecube and MP 3 for Wii.
Mario Kart Wii (BS rubber banding, but other than that, it has great controls and courses)
Kirby Epic Yarn
Kirby Return to Dreamland (kinda expensive to find)
Donkey Kong County Returns (though I prefer the 3DS port: lesser graphics, but with more levels and a better control scheme)
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (also expensive to find)
Punch-Out
Wario Land: Shake It (again, for retro)
Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
The Last Story

Lesser Known Gems:
Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands (IMO, far superior to the HD one, better gameplay mechanics, and lots of extras, love it)
A Boy and His Blob (Wayforward is a good studio)
Arc Rise Fantasia (HORRID English dub, but otherwise a very good JRPG)
Battalion Wars 2
Boom Blox and its sequel (fun block-breaking puzzles)
de Blob and its sequel (great platformers)
Dead Space Extraction (surprisingly good story and character models, only problem is lack of enemy variety)
Endless Ocean and its sequel (a slow, calming, underseas exploration series with great music)
Epic Mickey and its sequel
Excitebots Trick Racing (controls take some getting used to, but a good racer)
Geometry Wars Galaxies
Goldeneye 007 (a good remake, either for this or the later HD ports)
Harvest Moon: Animal Parade
Klonoa (excellent remake, vibrant and fun)
Madworld
Muramasa: The Demon Blade (has a slightly superior Vita port with more levels and a better translation)
No More Heroes and its sequel (I know you have them, I'm just making a list)
Pandora's Tower
Red Steel 2
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles
Shiren the Wanderer
Sin and Punishment: Star Successor
SSX Blur (very involved and interesting control scheme that takes getting used to, but no voice acting, sadly)
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Zack and Wiki
Godzilla Unleahed (like the DBZ game, lots to do and enjoy for Godzilla fans, like me, but is hard to find now)
Rune Factory Frontier
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny (may have the subtitle "Oceans". Depends on your country)
Trauma Team
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Rhythm Heaven Fever
The Conduit (sequel isn't as good, imo)
House of the Dead Overkill
Fragile Dreams
Sonic Colors
Sonic and the Black Knight (divisive, like many 3D Sonic games, but I liked this one)
Little King Story
Phantom Brave: We Meet Again
Centipede Infestation (again, kinda old school, but its by Wayforward, and I think they are excellent)
Fortune Street

Port and Compilations that I think are good:
Rayman Origins (I prefer the Wiimote and Nunchuck control scheme)
Resident Evil 4 (I like this version's control scheme)
Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (essential for any DBZ fan, lots to do and a fun control scheme)
Kirby's Dream Collection
Metal Slug Anthology (seven games in one)
Dragon's Lair Trilogy (for animation fans, like me)
Bit Trip Complete
King of Fighters Collection: Orochi Saga
Samurai Shodown Anthology
Okami
House of the Dead 2&3 Return
SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 (there was never more volumes)

And lastly, just a few that are just kinda 'okay', but interesting:
The Kore Gang (started as an Xbox game, and looks like one, but it has good art design, and if you like 6th gen 3D platformers, its right up your ally)
Musroom Men: The Spore Wars (similar story, except better graphics. Excellent art design, but very much like a 6th gen platformer)
Elebits
Dragon Quest Swords (not a fan of the in-town controls, but its combat is fun, and has good voice acting)
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (a divisive JRPG, don't know if you'll like it)

And lastly, even though I know this site is very much against it, Metroid: Other M. No, I don't like the story or voice acting, but the gameplay I found to be kinda addicting, if a tad glitched.

One last thing, if you have a Wii, definitely get a component cable for it if you have a compatible television. It'll make your Wii games look better, and certain Gamecube games will be able to be played in 480p, which makes them look a lot better. Wikipedia has a list of 480p compatible Gamecube games.

I believe the Ace Attorney games were ported over to Wii in the digital shop. Get on that, they're fucking amazing.

If you like stealth games I can safely recommend Tenchu 4: Shadow Assassins.
It's kind of like Splinter Cell and Red Steel (if it wasn't a complete and utter gimmicky mess) rolled into one.

But if you don?t like stealth games then....I got nothing. Everyone else has pretty much said everything and I?m pretty much in the same boat as you.]

EDIT: OH YEAH! *bonks head* duh doy! Silent Hill Shattered Memories. It's probably the best silent hill to come out since the series was abandoned by "Team Silent"

I'll give you the list of games still in my library, kept on to the ones "replayable" or "keeping for memories sake" when I bought my WiiU.
So here are a few I'd recomend:
DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3
Fire Emblem
Xenoblade
Prince of Persia
Monster Hunter Tri
Red Steel 2
Muramasa the Demon Blade
The Last Story
Okami
Metroid Prime
Zelda (Twilight Princess and Skywar Sword)
Mario
Smash bros

If you have questions regarding any of the games just ask, or search on the web :p

Wario Land The Shake Dimension is probably one of the best overlooked games for the Wii, despite being the fifth installment in the popular Wario Land Franchise. It's fun whilst still presenting a solid challenge and easily ranks among the best on the Wii when it comes to the soundtrack. Highly recommend buying it if you happen to come across it.

Punch-Out is another rarely talked about game that you should definitely buy, especially since it's usually quite cheap in the stores still selling copies. It's a boxing game built around reading opponents moves and timing your blows accordingly. Amazing memorable characters and a real sense of accomplishment when you finally take down your rivals. The only thing I would recommend is when you play you should use the Wii controller NES style due to an awkward delay with the motion controls.

People have already said most of what I am going to list but prepare to be dazzled!

I recommend Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility and Harvest Moon Animal Parade. Both are amazing games and I always thought the console Harvest Moons are the best of the lot. Tree of Tranquility is really outstanding and there is nothing I don't like about the game. Also part of the Harvest Moon family, Rune Factory Frontier. Also Rune Factory Tides of Destiny if you are in the US. They won't and are not going to release it in Europe for the Wii :( It makes me want to cry. A whole life of collecting these games destroyed!

Silent Hill Shattered Memories. It's a great Silent Hill game and is worth of praise for what it does. The story is great and very well told, there are a lot of great moments in the game. The soundtrack is brilliant and I adore it. Just an all round great game for the Wii. Get it get it.

Go for the big names that everyone can name off the top of their heads. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Super Smash Brother's Brawl, Metroid Prime, Mario Kart Wii, any of the Mario Party games if you're into that.

The most played Wii games I have are Twilight Princess, which is by far my favorite Legend of Zelda game that I feel like replaying every few months, and the Goldeneye 007 remake, which is actually just pretty dang generic and forgettable of an FPS.

Goldeneye 007 is good enough if you want a Bond game or an FPS on the Wii that isn't a crappy port or a crappy game in general, but it's pretty bad in any form of multiplayer (which is unfortunate, because the game it's a remake of pretty much wrote the book for console multiplayer), its optional stealth is just atrocious, and the game isn't that... difficulty. What I will give that game is that the hardest difficulty emulates the damage model used in the N64 version, and the tank driving level is the most fluent, cathartic, and snappy thing I think I've ever played on any game. Ever.

Red Steel 2 and the Conduit 1 & 2 might be better FPSs than the Goldeneye 007 is, but I haven't played those.

Just gonna stand on my little carboard box here:

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories dammit! Oh and Resident Evil 4's Wii port, Gamecube graphics, PlayStation 2 extras (like the extra campaign).

I quite like the Trauma Center games.

Not quite as uh accurate as on the DS original, but it pulls the concept off fairly well. But there are some control issues. At least for Second Opinion, haven't played New Blood yet.

Everyone has probably already mentioned a lot of the good ones already, I see someone has posted a huge list, but in case anyone has missed any of the following I'll say these:

* Muramasa: The Demon Blade
* A Boy and his Blob
* Eledees
* Red Steel
* Red Steel 2
* Dewy's Adventure
* Rune Factory Frontier
* Overlord: Dark Legend
* Bust a Move
* Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkichi 3
* Super Swing Golf
* Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars
* Super Mario Strikers
* Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo
* Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon.

I actually plan on going through the back catalogue of the Wii library and purchasing a few titles myself. The Wii had a pretty cool library of games with many gems hidden amongst the many titles, and with the Wii U having backwards compatibility, I hope to one day either this year or the next begin reviewing Wii games for people who either have Wii or Wii U. So far the only new game I've brought for this purpose is Disaster: Day of Crisis, which I've heard is supposed to be an amazing game, albeit limited to Japan and EU (sorry US Nintendo/Wii/Wii U fans). So yeah, I hope this list helps.
