Through the years our cultural and natural environment have been dramatically affected by the invention/discovery of amongst others; fire, money, the wheel, electricity, space, television, internet. I'd like to hear your thoughts on what you think will be the next big milestone to change human history.

War with North Korea. It sounds bad, but that's the most likely thing to happen, in which case we're all fucked. However, in happier news, there are various projects ongoing at the moment to bring computer technology closer to the milestone of true virtual reality. If that ever succeeds then we could be looking at an actual cyberspace similar perhaps to The Matrix, which would be pretty damn awesome. Imagine that, L4D and CoD in virtual reality. That would be so freaking cool...

Another war. Lots of missiles and broken people, from the ashes will rise the new generation. About 5 years later, a load of whiney anti-war types will be protesting, not realizing that war, death and suffering revaliases humanity as much as it hurts it.

Hah, North Korea?

It's Pakistan I would be worried about... Becaus they have nukes that actually work, and the country is on a edge of being taken over by religious fanatics.

I'd say Korea and USA have a war, Europe gets all the spoils for helping out, then we all live like kings and laugh at the rest of the world. Australia and Africa can come and laugh with us, too.

Those religious fanatics are only 5% of their population. Across the world, of course. So 1 out of 20 people from their country (if you bunched them up, that is, assuming you find them all) is a fanatic.

Not really, South Korea and Japan might be.
Maybe America if they get better missiles.

But the rest of the world will be fine, I imagine they'll prioritise where their missiles go to ensure the destruction of their more hated countries rather than try and get as many countries as possible.

As for what I think would be the next big thing.

Well this is more wishful thinking than anything else, but hoverboards.

More likely there will be some breakhrough in genetics that will cause much jubilation, curing all kinds of genetic diseases.

Which is nice, but not as cool as hoverboards would be.

I'd say an invasion of Pakistan by foreign forces leading to a long and bloody insurgency, and hopefully securing Pakistani nuclear weapons. This scenario would eventually lead to greater Western isolationism.

I don't think there's gonna be one big think except small easy to use personal flying transport(not likely due to health & safety crap), things are just gonna change more quickly and gradually

The human race will go extinct and all the other animals of the world can have a deep sigh of relief and go on untroubled.
That would be the best thing... ever.
