Imagine that suddenly all your money disappears. It happened as soon as you started reading this text. You have no cash. Your bank accounts are all empty, even any Swiss ones that you might have. You don't have any stock, bonds, or anything else that's basically a different form of money. And that includes gift certificates. You don't have any gold either, except for jewelry. The basic rule is that anything that you have because it can be used as a form of currency is gone.
What do you do? Please note: Asking friends and family for money isn't allowed. Apart from that, anything goes.

EDIT: I'm noticing a lot of people saying that this is no different to what their current situation is like. On the one hand it's good to know I'm not alone in having pretty much no money at all, on the other hand I feel a bit sorry for you all...

Buckle down and wait for next years birthday money to come in?.

I'm living with my parents and i'm dependent on my family for maintenance and my substantial savings adds up to about 100 euro in a bank account and about a billion cents worth of pocket change in my bedside drawer so it wouldn't really do anything. I wouldn't pre-purchase Rome 2 at any rate.

Find the person who stole my money, and start a power sander up against their feet, and stop it when it has sanded off everything below the ankles. After that, raid his cash collection, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who he did this too. Finally, coat the floor under him in salt and cut him free as I leave.

Be a bit more active about getting a job?

I've got enough money that I'd be pretty damned pissed off about it disappearing, but not so much that I'd be really screwed. I live at home/at university, so I'm pretty well supported by my family and student loans (which annoyingly will only come through again in September). Come to think of it I'd ring my bank and see if I could claim it back as they lost it.

I wouldn't see a difference T.T

I'd wait until tomorrow for pay day. If that was taken away, I'd call my two student loan companies that are due later this month (the other two have already been paid this month) and tell them all my money is gone and I'll pay them next-next payday.

So, nothing's changed then? Huh. I'll get back to you on what I'd do later, since I'm kinda figuring that out at the moment.

Well, this is a 3 payday month, and I have 2 paydays left, so I'd have enough, barely, for rent and food. I'd be okay... If pissed retirement is a few years later now. I would probably pitch a giant-ass fit over that.

Be pissed that my hard earned cash just disappeared, then wait for payday. :/

Not much else I could do besides sell all of my belongings, lol.

Cry and curse.

Then grudgingly opt to work all kinds of overtime at my job.

I say that because I was avoiding it. The store is newly opened so our hours are mostly unlimited. Overtime is ours for the taking. I just didn't feel like earning any. Felt unnecessary.

I'd grab a stick for a weapon and journey into the nearest tomb/catacomb/dungeon and quest for treasure.

If it works in Faerun, then by Helm it'll work here, too!

Would I lose my job as well?
Nope. You'd keep your job.
Oh well then I continue going to my job, doing the best I can, and saving were ever possible.
This isn't much different to my current financial situation anyway.

I don't think I'd change anything. It's just worthless money and there's plenty more where that came from.

I have a friend that is always like this.
Luckily he is a professional magician so when he runs out of cash, he performs on the street and scrapes by.
I guess i would ask him to teach me so that I can keep providing for myself like him too.
