I was pondering the universe today, having seen the Canis Majoris animation for the umpteenth time.
A spacegeek like me would love to see space exploration beyond our own solar system, and of course contact with another alien race (Actually I wouldn't care if they came here to eat us and nick our resources, just seeing them before they zap me would grant me a happy death).
I would settle for spacebased habitats in orbit around the earth, which I believe is the most probable scenario to expect within the next 100 years.
Leeching our electricity from space will have to be on some agenda somewhere due to all the discussion about it these days. That will probably lead to further ventures in our immediate surrounding space.
For those who have yet to see the animation I was talking about earlier, here's a link:

Imagine! That's a star within our own galaxy; and there's trillions of other galaxies we cannot yet see inside. Imagine what we have not yet seen, and what there is to BE seen in the universe ;O
Arguing that the universe is as good as endless (To the extent that the human brain can fathom), it's a fact that there are so many amazing things out there that we can not even fit into our minds without blowing a fuse. So many different civilizations, so many nebulae and planets that are unlike anything ever seen.
I get a raging erection just talking about this, better stop!
Now, what would you like to see happen in your lifetime?
