What you want to see at this year?s E3

- Mortal Kombat 11 (or whatever it?s called) gameplay trailer

I'm curious if there will be any interesting EA originals. Their reception so far has been so-so, but I've always found the titles themselves look interesting if nothing else.

Also, it's one of the few things I actually think can arrive as a surprise at E3; while I'm sure I can fantasize about a sequel to some title coming out I have a harder time imaging it as something that the big publishers would announce at E3 or that they'd be able to keep hidden until E3. For an EA Original I think that is entirely possible.

AFAIK Rockstar doesn't do E3, so don't hold your breath for RDR2. I would love to see it though.

I'd like to see Devil May Cry 5 (Capcom registered a domain for it), Borderlands 3, new Arkham game, Cyberpunk 2077, Darksiders 3, new TES (most likely won't happen but I'm an optimist), new Splinter Cell, Saints Row 5 and the new Tomb Raider.

I wanna see a remaster of Onimusha 1 and 2. I'd like to say I want to see the Resident Evil 2 remake, but I have very little faith in Capcom.

The rest of the big games I know I'll see anyway.

Seriously though, yeah it's no secret that E3 is merely one big marketing tool to show off flashy CGI trailers with little regard to gameplay. It's still a place to check out the newest games announced and be interested in it. I do agree with you though people need to be cautious with what is announced and keep their hype checked.

I'm so disenchanted with E3 that I honestly hope no games peak my interest because then it'll be easier when the suck and fall victim to corporate mandated predatory monetary practices and shoe-string-budget ports.
Like if they announced a 3rd person single player branching narrative story based action game set in the 40k Franchise where you play a loyalist Space Marine from the traitor Legions during the Horus Heresy, I wouldn't be creaming my pants, I'd be sighing miserably because just based off the fact it was at E3 that means marketing is trying to get one over on me and that half of what is promised it lies and the other half exaggerations.

Given the AAA industry I can't imagine any publisher wanting to show a game at E3. Seems like a good way to guarantee your game is horribly received.

Not really. I mean, were they? Arkham Knight maybe, but I can't remember people losing their shit over Battlefront and certainly not Destiny.


And at the same time they were plenty of AAA games that got E3 hype and turned out to be really good, or should I say, very well liked by the general audience and critics, like Breath of the Wild, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mario Odyssey, the Shadow of the Colossus remake, and recently God of War.

The main thing I always look forward to is reveals of games I don't know about. I still remember the E3 when Vanquish was revealed and it was coming out that fall. That's the exact type of stuff I love to see at E3. Maybe whatever Arkane is working on will be revealed. The last reveal I remember wowing me was Horizon Zero Dawn. I don't get the hype of most games like say RDR2 or Destiny, Rockstar making a typical Rockstar game or Bungie making a new FPS are sorta known quantities. The one very specific announcement that I'd love to see is the release date for the digital version of Terraforming Mars, but that isn't E3 worthy.

You can easily see through the lies though. I knew Destiny was going to suck from the developer interviews during the E3 when they revealed it. All you gotta do is pay attention. Though, there was the Destiny alpha/beta/demo that only confirmed its suckage and people still bought it for whatever reason. Even the Watch Dogs reveal was obvious that the game was only going to possibly look like that on really high-end PCs. Plus, the actual content and gameplay was really spot-on with what was in the final game, even exact missions from the E3 demos were in the final game. With Arkham Knight, it was just another Rocksteady Batman game, it was a known franchise. Same with Battlefront, a DICE Star Wars skinned Battlefield. What do people think these games are going to do that's so amazing that they haven't played before?

Kingdom Hearts 3! 12. Fucking. Years. The hype train will never die!

Looking forward to:
Spider-Man What can I say? It looks really good! Like Spider-Man 2, but, so much better. I've got high hopes for this.

Ghost of Tsushima I've enjoyed the Infamous series a lot, so I can't wait to see what Sucker Punch has been working on. It's especially great since Japan, ninjas, and samurai are my weak points.

Megaman 11 It's been ages since I've played a Megaman game. So far it looks pretty good. Hopefully it doesn't go the way of Mighty Number 9

Team Sonic Racing I haven't played a dumb racing game featuring nostalgic characters since Crash Tag Team Racing.

Total War: Three Kingdoms As a Dynasty Warriors fan regularly disappointed by the Rotk series, I've been hoping for Creative Assembly to tackle the era for a while now.

Marvel's Avengers Project It's Square Enix, so I'm pretty optimistic. I usually like their games well enough and I've been waiting for a decent Marvel game, that isn't Spider-Man, since Ultimate Alliance.

Death Stranding What the hell is it?!

Dead or Alive 6 Koei got rid of the jiggles, apparently, so this may be the last game. I haven't played Dead or Alive in ages, so I'm kinda interested in getting back into it.

Rage 2 It seems like Borderlands but cranked up to 12.

I replayed it immediately after completing it. I didn't do that with any other Arkham game. I absolutely loved it.

I liked it, apart from the Batmobile stuff not being that great. But then I didn't play it on PC, were the game was apparently busted as hell and still is.

Right now pretty much the only thing I have any interest in is the Nintendo presser due to Smash Bros. and of course the possibility of Metroid Prime 4 and Fire Emblem (because all the other ones tend to be REALLY freaking boring). Other than that the only thing catching my interest in the buzz right now are the DMCV rumors. Everything else looks to be business as usual
