I'd give it a 7/10. It was good but I felt that it wallowed too much in the old Bonds instead of doing it's own thing. It seemed like it was using nostalgia as a bit of a crutch which I think hampered the rest of the film.

It was still really good when it was doing it's own thing.

I liked it when the old dude called Bond a "jumped up little shit". It gave everyone a good chuckle.

i'd give it about a 6 or 7/10. It was good sure, it had some cool scenes and action but i felt that the villain was a bit weird, he comes out of nowhere and was far too manic for my liking. I also found the connection of him to that girl who was shot with a musket a bit too convenient, they never even explain that assassination she's present of.

Funny moment for me has to be when they blow up Bond's car, his face was priceless.

basically it was good but not Casino Royale good.

Very good, miles better than Quantum of Solace. Drags on a bit toward the end but otherwise holds your complete attention. Not really traditional James Bond but not a super modernized version either, it sits comfortably between old and new...

You don't want to read this unless you've seen the movie.
Seriously, I can't express how big a spoiler this is!
The death of M was surprising, Judy Dench was a very good M but she is swiftly replaced with a new M which one would assume will be present in the next James Bond

I would have to give it a 9 or even a 10. For a massive Bond fan such as my self who has seen each film countless times it did everything right. The action was spectacular, the story was brilliant and the villain was one of the best the series has had. The little references to past films was awesome as well but I'm glad they're moving away from familiar territory.

Where are ya'll that Skyfall is out? In my place it doesn't come out until the 9th. I don't really James Bond too much, but this movie looks interesting none the less.

If I'm not mistaken, that whole last scene was a sort of reference to the first Bond films. All of Daniel Craig's films are set before any of the other films, and the end of Skyfall leads into the first few Connery films. The office with the leather door, the new M, Money Penny, etc.

First of Welcome to the Escapist!

For me the Skyfall was a good movie, not the best Bond one but defineatly at the top so I'd have to rate it about 8.5-9/10

I don't rate movies that way, but as someone who's seen every Bond movie, I have to admit this is my favorite one. I like how personal the story is and how we got some glimpses of Bond's past. Bardem was amazing and so was Daniel Craig. I loved that Bond girl was pretty much M this time.

Yes, but Judy Dench was M prior to the Daniel Craig prequels meaning that at some point in the future M would become Judy Dench again, a younger Judy Dench at that, so the film has created a weird time paradox from which no logic can escape...

I'd go with a six or seven out of ten. It was a good film but certain parts were not exactly brilliant. In particular, Bond should have died at the start and the producers thought they could make people forget that fact by putting an over long intro sequence.

I felt like it was relying too much on references instead of being subtle about them it felt like they were yelling "Remember Goldfinger? Here's a shit load of nostalgia for you to digest!"

Villain was good, characters were good, cinematography was gorgeous but the story was only meh. It didn't bring anything new to the table but it was still a good film.

What would of made the film great in my opinion would be that...

The old dude in Scotland was played by Sean Connery

Did anyone else notice the massive amount of product placement? They were not exactly subtle about it.

Is There A Reason The OP Capitalised The First Letter Of Every Word?
Anyway, Craig's best, but not Bond's best. With luck they'll continue moving in the right direction. They lifted parts from so many other movies...Bourne Ultimatum (the train), Thomas Crowne Affair (the police), Butch Cassidy (the house), Die Hard 4 (the villain) and plot elements of previous Bonds, TWINE and DAD.

I have to say I did kinda like the villain. I do sorta miss the megamaniacal supervillain but the comedy and clarity of vision made up for that shortcoming :)

I'd say 8.5/10. I felt like it had a bit of pacing problems in the first third, but after that it picked up!

It wasn't perfect, but it was so much better than the last two I don't even care. It was a Bond movie for one. A lot of people on here are having a go about the nostalgia... which I think is a bit ridiculous. It follows a formula, yes. It's supposed to. It's a bloody Bond film.

Few reasons why it's good:
- It has a gadget moment where everyone knows what's going to happen.
- It has lethal beasties.
- It has a mad bad guy with a facial disfigurement.
- It has a preposterous evil lair.
- It was funny.

Like when in Casino Royale Vesper asks him if he's wearing a Rolex and he says "Omega"? Frankly I was shocked when he didn't shave with one of these:

As far as product placement in Bond movies goes, it actually seemed pretty tame to me. Though I'm glad the VW people were good sports and let him crush a load of them as part of the product placement.
