Sonic Mania is out very soon. It looks great, although I'm a bit disappointed to hear that the ratio is more towards a rehash of old zones than new ones. I've played every Sonic game except Sonic 06 (I won't be playing that - lol) since I was young so I know all the old zones too well. I'm still confident I'll love it though.

So far, the zones I know will be included are...

Green Hill
Chemical Plant
Ice Cap
Flying Battery
Studiopolis
Mirage Saloon
Stardust Speedway

What will the others be? Which ones do you want them to include?

Edit: I've heard it will be a lot longer than Generations so I'm predicting Sonic 3 & Knuckles length at around 12-15 zones - so it's likely there will be double the amount shown here...

I think that's all of them. Which sucks, because they're really going down the rehash route. Yes, I like Green Hill, but Christ, it doesn't need to be in every game. It at least makes sense in something like Generations, or even Forces (thematically, at least - if South Island is the last free haven from Eggman, not to mention that we see signs of desertification in it), but what's its excuse in Mania?

I've heard it's going to be a lot longer than Generations - so that means there will definitely be more than 9 zones. I reckon there will be about 15. They'll try and make it the same length as S3&K.

Oh yeah I'm really looking forward to that game. 2D Sonic is still the best. Don't really care if they go the rehash route if they take the best stages(haven't played the originals in ages). Sometimes you have to go back to square 1 to know what makes a great game.

Yeah it's been outsourced by Sonic Team to fans of the old games turned developers - which is why I think it will be so good. Which old zones would you like to see, apart from the ones listed?

Hmmm..I'd have a hard time knowing the stages by name but pretty much any of the stages from Sonic 1 - 3, Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic CD would be pretty sweet in my opinion. I used to play Sonic Triple Trouble on Gamegear way back in the day so even if that wasn't as good as the Megadrive/Genesis titles I would love to play a remixed level of that game for nostalgia's sake. Even if that's unlikely. :p
