Today, on a whim, I decided to add up the total number of hours I've spent playing games on Steam since I got the client for the free Portal event back in May. I was shocked to find out that I had spent 110.25 hours, or roughly 4.6 full 24 hour days playing Steam games in the 6 months or so since then. The kicker? That figure doesn't include any time spent playing console or non-steam PC games, both of which I have plenty of. It's actually pretty scary, now that I think about it -- I haven't had much time to play games since school started back up, which means that the almost 5 days of my life that have gone into Steam games alone since May is actually a lower number than would have gone down if I were, say, a school kid rather than a college junior, or just on vacation from school and work.
For discussion value, add up the combined hours you've spent playing games on Steam (or any other service that keeps track -- if Xbox Live or PSN tracks playtime, the console players are welcome in this thread) and post your reaction to finding out just how much time you've spent on games since creating the account. Are you shocked, relieved, unsurprised? This is the place to post about it.
