I can't answer this question myself, but most people have interesting opinions about this, and I want to hear yours

In the words of Finch:

"There's a fine line between courting and stalking. A Connecticut Judge once spelled it out to me."

Anyways more OT if you love someone you care about them, you want them to be happy. If you are obsessed well thats more you want them to care about you and want them to want you to be happy. If that makes any sense.

Love is a more narrowly-focused path of obsession that has a tendency to be far less dangerous and far more socially, physically, and emotionally productive, is capable of being a mutual feeling, and doesn't carry as much of the psycholinguistic baggage.

If you love someone, you will let them leave you if they wish.

If you are obsessed, you will let them leave you, but you'll come back later with a shovel and a plastic bag, followed later by a long drive out into the mountains where nobody is around.

Obsession is when you do everything to get to know a person and help a person and try to be a person even if you absolutely know you don't stand a chance.

Love is all that if you do stand a chance :D

... Ok, no. To be completely honest, I can't find a way to put it other than "one is beautiful and one is creepy."

Not sure, but here is a shot,

You can obsess over somone you have never met

You need to know someone deeply to love them

You know, I think that's the best way to put it into words. Kudos.

Obsession is a feeling. It's infatuation taken to an unhealthy degree. Love, contrary to popular belief, is not a feeling This idea arose when people decided they wanted to leave their significant others and were unwilling to come out and admit that they were douchebags. "I can't control the way I feel!" bullshit! Love has nothing to do with emotion!) Love is an action. It is putting another person's well-being above your own.

Short answer: Love is measured in self-sacrifice. Obsession is measured in how many used tissues of the other person you've collected.

Simple, when you love someone you're first concern is their happiness, even if it means that you don't get to be with them. When you're obsessed with someone all you care about is that you have them, you just want them to love you, you don't really care about them

Love implies affection, obsession does not. Love requires a measure of obsession (links have been made between the mental states of one in love, and one suffering from obsessive compulisve disorder), but obsession does not require love.

Love is war. Obsession is assassination.

The first pair are open, consensual, beautiful. The latter pair are precise yet selfish, though beautiful in their own way.
