What's the longest it ever took you to complete a game, and what game?

Some games just have a lot of gameplay, have lots of little hidden bits that can keep a player occupied, and some are just hard to finish, regardless of content.

So what game took you forever to finish?

Mine was probably AC1, I used to get so frustrated because I could never find the miscellaneous events leading up to an assassination (like interrogations, etc.). Then I discovered viewpoints.

It took me a good couple of years to beat Pokemon Blue.
I obtained Mass Effect while it was still new and have yet to beat it.

I'd say that game took me a long time to finish because i got so bored out of my mind doing the same reptitive task for every assination i just had to do a few things and set it aside for months at a time.

As for a game i had alot of fun waisting alot of my life playing... hmm... Sim City 3000 was a good one. Though its sort of like WoW do you ever really beat it?

13 years to finally beat Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

That was the greatest victory of all time.

Took me about one year to finish Final Fantasy VII. Kept getting stuck, frustrated and stopped playing. Then waited a month and started back up again.

This, as well as Final Fantasy IIV. Actually, I haven't beaten Final Fantasy IIV, among all the accidentally rewriting files in the blink of an eye and endless dungeons.

Of games I've actually completed, maybe morrowind. It's hard to say, especially because I kept playing sidequests and mods after I'd finished it.

Likewise with Assassin's Creed. I picked that one up when the Pc port came out. I still haven't finished it.

Also coming off of my Steam games list, which at this point is akin to a digital graveyard, are Freedom Force 1 and 2, Prey, Overlord, Uplink, Darwina, Fallout 3, SiN and SiN Episodes, and finally Red Faction: Guerrilla.

Yeah, I have some catch-up to do.

Barring things like Morrowind or Oblivion where that don't have a storyline that keeps you focused, probably FFXII. level 99 and full license board takes a while, neh?

Well, I still haven't beaten Final Fantasy VII. So I'd say 12 years and counting.

For games we've actually completed, GTA3.

For ones we haven't, either Eternal Sonata or GTA4. I think Eternal Sonata's cutscene is still going. actually.
