I was adopted at birth because my mom was only 19 and couldn't take care of me herself. I don't hold anything against her for what she did, as a matter of fact I'm thankful for the adoption, but I am meeting her on Saturday for the first time and honestly I don't know what I'm going to say...

When you meet a total stranger you normally just wave.
When you meet a family friend or someone important you shake their hand.
When you meet family you hug them.

What am I supposed to do? Shes close friends with my family, but would a hand shake be to formal? Should I hug her? What would you guys do if you met your biological mom for the first time after 17 years...

I still haven't met my biological dad. I pray that I never get the opportunity either, jackass ups and leaves my mum when she was 2 months pregnant to travel the world and pays $20(AU) a week in child support? I'd kick his ass left right and gdamn centre.
