What's with the gay threads lately?

I might not the only one who notices it, but i may be the one of the first who will point this out. Could someone explain why are there so many forum threads revolving around homosexuality nowadays? Why is it such a hot topic, that gets discussed more than actual gaming threads, on a GAMING site?

Look, don't think of me as a homophobe, but is this an appropriate place for such discussions, on this kind of regular basis?

The same could be told about the samey "meat" threads, where it's always the same - vegans take turns to piss boiling oil on carnivores and vice versa, lol. (again no offence)

There's six different forum sections that are at most tangentially related to gaming. Does that answer your question? The forums aren't just for discussing games, it's just a normal forum, albeit with more vigilant mods than most, with a userbase that shares gaming as a common interest.

They are usually located in the off-topic discussion part. And seeing as everyone has a sexuality, it becomes hot...I mean i always look on those threads...for, no, specific, reason.

Anyway, probably cause its news. you could ask why there would be any non gaming threads allowed on this site if it was just for gaming, but its not.

I read that in the sort of "gay means lame, bro" sort of way. I enjoyed that title. Anyway, it's because it is a hot topic in America Land, no other reason, really.

Obviously it is appropriate in terms of content.

Before this, there were a lot of topics about stupidity, evolution, rape, MLP, DA2, etc. These things tend to be trending for a while and then be replaced by another topic. What I think happens is that someone will see a discussion about a topic that interests them, and it either reminds them of something related that they want to talk about, or they want more people to read their opinion so they just start (or post in) a new topic instead of page 50 of the current one.

I really don't care what your sexuality is, neither do most people. Most people here, including me, agree with gay rights. I think overtly proud gays are just ANNOYING.
