I have noticed that alot of this newer generation generally refuses to do hard work or get dirty at a job. Do they think they are so great that they are above honest work or what? Not even girls are excused from this poll =P I have worked with plenty of girls in my line of work who arent afraid to work hard or get dirty. Just wondering if this is a side effect of the whole "gaying up" of society.

Some of us were/are grown/growing up priveliged, and dont wanna do dirty work because we're lazy or have a poor work ethic.

Dirty work is more of the equivalent of manual labor. And people believe manual labor is for those of less intelligences, and in a society where intelligence is becoming increasingly valued it is frowned upon. Not saying I AGREE just saying that's how it is.

What qualifies as "dirty work" in this sense?

My favorite job, by far, was so dirty that people were known to faint just from seeing us work: I cut up dead bodies for a living. It was really, really awesome. If the company wasn't completely asinine I'd still be doing it, too.

So, no, I'm not afraid of dirty work; I actually prefer it because dirty jobs are generally the ones where you get to mess around with cool stuff. It's the nice "clean" jobs that tend to be mindless, boring, and repetitive (at least until you get to the stage where you're actually making policy decisions and doing *new* things).

I do like to have a nice shower afterward, though.

I'm not quite sure how not wanting to do hard work or get dirty would have anything to do with society being "gayed up", so kindly rephrase your words before someone winds up taking serious offense to that.

As for your statement, it's (probably) not a matter of wanting to feel superior to the people who do the legwork. Some people just plain aren't cut out for that kind of labor.

I can say I'm not one of those people. I'm 15, I have a job, and I work whenever I can.

Actually I read somewhere that because so many more people are going to college, there is a huge need for manual workers. I personally like manual work over paperwork.

Wow, someone must have felt like a walk on the retarded side. Reported.

Your profile says you were born in 1987, making you 22. What period of society are you comparing this to anyway?
