We all see the "What are you listening to" threads. They're all fine and dandy but there's never really any discussion. At least the ones I come across. So, rather than just what songs playing at the moment, what's the song or band you can't stop listening to? Why?

For example, I've dug up my old Powerman 5000 albums. Don't know what started it but since Friday I've let PM5K play almost non-stop. It's only been off when I've been watching TV. Brings back the old days of Smackdown VS Raw when I almost shit myself when I found out they were on there. I had been a fan of them for a few weeks, booted up Smackdown VS Raw, When Worlds Collide came on and I was like "HORRY SHEET!"

Anyway, enough of my rambling. Let the thread commence!

I'm a bit of a fan of Tenacious D myself. Might watch the Pick Of Destiny later, actually. Recommend any good comedy musicians? Tenacious D and Weird Al are obvious ones.

Hmm...

OT: I'm really liking soundtracks at the moment.

Kanye West, he wouldn't be in my normal genres but the man's a genius.
I lost interest in him after he slayed Harder Better Faster Stronger. He desecrated Daft Punk. An unforgivable crime :p

In all seriousness he's not bad but doesn't tickle my hip-hop nerve

It's meant to be Eddie Riggs from Brutal Legend :p Mind you, Riggs does look suspiciously like Jack Black

Biffy Clyro.
I've liked them all year, heard about 2-3 of their songs. Then, late this summer I just listened to more of them. And more. And more. And now I have their 1st, 3rd, and 5th albums (Blackened Sky, Infinity Land, and Only Revolutions respectively). All three are amazing, and I'm probably going to buy album 4, Puzzle.

I'm mainly in love with the The Captain EP, however. Help Me Be Captain, a more raw, stripped-down, bass-heavy version of The Captain without the trumpets and some different music, is what started it. I then started playing it on the guitar, and am loving how satisfying it is to play. I'm now learning more songs; they are so far the only band I've genuinely wanted to teach myself how to play.
I guess I owe them a lot for rekindling my interest in the guitar heavily.

In fact, I'm so obsessed with The Captain that, even though I have the iTunes EP with all three b-sides, I'm going to buy their Super-bundle of it.
CD Single, and two 7" Vinyls with different disks and b-sides on each.
I shall hang them on my wall, along with Enter Shikari's Destabilise Vinyl.

I've somehow managed to swing back into constantly playing Kasabian and not much else.
Probably as a result of those albums I found for like two euros each. Now I suddenly don't have to go onto the YouTube tab to change to the next song all the time.

Pretty sure I'm annoying the shit out of my brother. All he wants to listen to is obscure electronica.

Lately I've just been listening to Kamelot's newest album Poetry for the Poisoned. Any time the album ends I just listen to more recent Kamelot stuff, I don't know why but it's been stuck in my head for awhile now and it's just so awesome.

I've been listening to a lot of folky rockish blues at the moment and A LOT of 40's and 50's swing/bigband/jazz era music i.e. Frank Sinatra Bing Crosby and the like.

Yeah, a friend showed me them once when I was drunk. Needless to say, in my intoxicated state, I found them hilarious.

Sufjan Stevens. And Eminem, for some reason. I think it began with Buck 65's remix of Sufjan's cover of 'You are The Blood', originally by the Castanets. It made me want to listen to some more rap.
