As I'm sitting here munching on some delicious rosemary focaccia that my roommate brought me from his bakery I'm trying to decide on my overall favorite. When it comes to sandwiches, italian is my staple but I think the challah we baked was actually my favorite to spread peanut butter on. It's a tough choice, though, between that and the baguette that makes for such great hors d'oeuvres from simple garlic bread to bruschetta to rare filet with a basil mayo. Although, I guess overall the best simply has to be bagels - delicious, all-purpose, and easily customizable.

My favourite is sliced. And according to a popular saying it is literally the best invention ever.

Well personally I love rye bread. It has a nice, earthy taste to it. I've never had any buttered toast better than rye bread toast. Plus you can use it to make Reubens, which are pretty much the tastiest sandwich a person can make. Another use, which goes along with the earthy taste, is to put melted swiss cheese and butter fried mushrooms on it.

Tesco does this nice rosemary-infused sourdough that I buy as a treat every now and then. And my sister bakes really good plain white bread.

I enjoy pretty much any fruit bread (bannana/blueberry/strawberry/ect). However my favorite bread that is all bread and no fruit would have to be sour doe.

Nice soft potato.
It's good for sandwiches, toast, and just about anything.
It also goes in soup well, do to its spongy texture.

I can never get into rye and I'm not exactly sure what in it makes me not like it. I think it might be the cardamom or caraway seeds that are used so often.

For me it's a toss-up between a French Baguette and Afghan Naan.

On a semi-related note, I cringe whenever someone calls it "Naan bread." It's redundant, like saying "toast bread" or "French baguette bread."

OT - Some kinda nice Brown bread, I really can't be arsed to check the name of it, though.
