I'm a big fan of sketch comedy (SNL, Madtv, Whitest Kids U Know, Monty Python, etc...etc.) and I was wondering what are some of my fellow escapists favorite sketches from a sketch comedy show.

I'll get the ball rolling with mine, it's from WKUK and it's called "The Grapist."

This thread has a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell. And maybe a holy hand grenade...and some shruberies, yes I require some shruberies.

I know it is a movie but it is just too good. Believe it or not, I couldn't find a video of the cowbell skit.

This sketch from Harry & Paul, I cried the first time I saw it.

And the cheese argument from Mitchell & Webb Look, not sure it counts as a sketch though.

I don't know how to embed videos but I think their best sketch is The Quiz Broadcast. The perfect mix of humour and darkness.

I don't think anyone outside Australia will really know who he is but Shaun Micallef has done some of the best skits I've ever seen.
If you can find it check out his old show The Micallef P(r)ogram(me), think a fake talk show spliced together with sketch comedy.
It's amazing.
Here's one of my favorite skits from it.
And another.
The man is a genius.

A Hermit's Cave
I'll show my age with this... anything wordy involving the two Ronnies e.g.

This sketch holds the world record for gags per minute. The jokes are predictable, but still hilarious when the punchline hits.

EDIT:

Ah... cracking up...(!)

The Parrot sketch:
This version was a live version, not taken from the TV show, but it's virtually identical, barring the actors trying not to piss themselves laughing.

The Cheese Shop sketch:
Same as above.

The Last Supper:

The Spanish Inquisition:

All are taken from Monty Python's Flying Circus, and it is fantastic.

I've always been more partial to Conquistador Coffee Campaign:
and Argument Clinic:
Plus there's the Romans go home bit in Life of Brian:

But really, any Monty Python is great Monty Python
