We've had "what's your college?" threads and "what do you do for a living?" threads, but offhand and via searchbar I can't quite recall a thread where someone just flat-out asked of the college students what we're all majoring in.

So:

- What's your major?
- Bonus question: How far through school do you plan to go (associate's/bachelor's/master's/doctorate/declaring early for the NBA draft)?

My answers: Dual major in accounting and finance, planning on a pair of master's degrees (an MBA and a Master of Accountancy), but I might someday get a doctorate in business administration just because being able to call myself "Doctor" would be cool.

For my BA I majored in Political Science. Did a double major actually, Pol Sci and History. Started the History part a bit later on though, tried to finish it in a year. Could finish it if I went back to Uni fo another semester but I'm so over writing longwinded boring essays that I'm really not arsed.

Planning on doing a design degree next year, majoring in Digital Media.

Currently doing a BA in Drama & Theatre Studies. Might try for a PhD at some point. I'm at the end of my 2nd year now, just one year and a massive dissertation left, joy

My major is currently in History, and I've been considering getting a minor, either in English or Geography, since I've taken a fair amount of both of those subjects, and I plan on taking some more.

Although I'll be applying to Law school after I get my BA, I'll definitely go back to get my Masters, and later on my PhD - the former because of my love for the subject, the latter for the same reason, on top of my desire to be called "Doctor" one day.

I have an MS in Sociology and Criminology
And I am fucking done. 9+ years of schools is enough (I worked full time for most of it so it was real slow going)

Good question. Probably because History/Political Science nutters can find some enjoyment in simulated versions of the subjects that they study? I know I do. I had a class on the French Revolution this semester and got to play Napoleon: Total War as well. It was great :)

I'll buy that. It takes a certain bend in the mind to get a kick out of games like Capitalism 2 and the "tycoon" genre overall...not to mention getting completely lost in the turn-based campaign part of Total War. It always bugged me that my Roman Empire was chock-full of governors corrupted by money because I was too good at making it.

Business, history, and politics are pretty generic degrees, you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want with them. You're not limited by much, and they are probably some of the highest paid straight out of undergrad degrees (specifically business degrees).

For me, I'm almost finished with my neuroscience degree. I'm thinking about a minor in American studies, but I have to convince myself to take 18 hours both semesters next year to finish it. Doubt it's going to happen.

Finishing my BSc in Medical Genetics, so of course I'm on here, not studying.

Also, what's this major and minor studies thing I'm hearing about?
