Title says it. Ever since I was little, I always had the irrational fear of spiders, and even to this day, seeing one is enough to send me cowering in the corner. I once broke my laptop while I was sitting on the sofa, typing a paper, and saw a spider. I immediately bolted upright, sending my computer flying, where it ricocheted off the coffee table and snapped in two on the floor.

Flying and spiders. Both of these things I'm terrified of.

I've never been a fan of flying. Being off the ground just terrifies me. I tend to find myself saying the old line "If humans were meant to fly, we would be born with wings." Then of course, everyone and their mother hits me with the line "You have a better chance of dying while driving a car than flying." But I can control my car, I can't control a 747.

Spiders because they creep me out. 99% of spiders I meet, will be killed within a minute. The 1% percent belongs to one in my room who ignores me and kills a shit ton of insects. He has earned the right to live.

For whatever reason, I don't really have any phobias.

There are things that I don't like (like heights) but I don't have anything that gives me such a fear that it makes me panic or anything (I've gone skydiving).

Don't really know why but there's really no phobias for me.

In no particular order, bees, needles and death. Well, I lied a bit. Death's probably the worst, for all the obvious reasons. But I guess it doesn't [i/]really[/i] count, since pretty much everyone's afraid of death. Bees have terrified me ever since I got stung as a kid when I tried to pick one up in my hands (I was a real dumbass when I was five). As for needles....ick. Just the idea of a long, sharp metal tube piercing your skin and going into a blood vessel to empty its contents into your body. I can't stand the idea.

I can't even bring myself to kill spiders, and usually have to be at least 20 feet away from them at all times.

Mottephobia. Fear of moths. Centipedes, millipedes, or silverfish also make my skin crawl. I'm okay with spiders, funnily enough. I know they at least serve a purpose of killing other irritating bugs.

I also tend to feel overwhelmed in crowds, which is a part of having social anxiety.
But I wouldn't call those phobias, exactly.

I'm not sure if it's a phobia, but snakes freak me out. Just one of the many ways I'm like Indiana Jones.

I despise deep water. It gives me shivers just thinking about the vast expanses of water where you can't see the bottom or worse can't even see land. I can barely do swimming pools and fuck beaches. If it's not the sea being scary it's sand being infuriatingly itchy.

I'll break out the second version of that saying, "if we were meant to go diving, we would be born with gills and fins and shit"

Spiders, which I inherited from my mother. After an entire childhood watching an influential figure scream bloody murder at spiders, and act is if they're hellspawn, well, that tends to rub off on you. The ocean would be a second. Not only because I can't swim, but also because of its depth, giant waves (Poseidon Adventure caused that fear) and plethora of monstrous looking fish. Not to mention just how little we know about the deeper reaches.

Large single colour voids, space and the like. Probably from spending time at a rug warehouse when I was young. Those things must have been 30 times my height.

Pretty much spiders of any kind. I don't know why I have a phobia of them as I do remember when I was litle I wasn't afraid of them.

I don't know why but ... kittens. I can't wrap my head around it, but something about them just scares the living crap out of me. Especially if they're staring right at me, like this one:
