I hate it when the seller lists the item as 'Very good', and then in the picture it is obvious they have removed the game disc and placed it on a flat surface in order to take the photograph. Is it really that hard to take two pictures?

I think this seller means, "Item was in 'Very good' condition. That is, right up until I scratched it real nice on my living room carpet to take this eBay photo. Now it's just 'Good'."

My brain hurts from looking at this. I very much hope you're trolling in which case I congratulate you on my headache.

I wasn't trolling, everything I say is genuine. Please tell me what you didn't like about my thread so that I don't make the same mistakes again. I know I abused quotation marks-- did that make it hard to read? Your post hurt my feelings.

That right there just makes you look like you're trolling again. But whatever, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and explain the point of my post, are you seriously bothered by someone taking the CD out of the box and placing it down for a photo so much that the act constitutes an act of quality degradation?

Carpets don't magically scratch CDs, if it was a video of his dog sitting down on the CD 2 seconds later and rubbing his butt over the carpet with the CD under it, that might scratch the CD, placing it down doesn't.

Maybe I'm just not used to eBay purchases though, but as far as I know, "Very Good" says "it works just fine", not "in mint condition".

I hate when people list disc only as anything other than "acceptable". And definitely when people list a SINGLE FUCKING ITEM item as a wholesale lot.

Yes. I have OCD and get very upset when anything comes in contact with the 'shiny side' of one of my game discs. Placing a game in my console's disc tray is an extremely involved task that can take me up to a full minute to complete. It involves careful, minute hand movements and concentrated sighting in order to ensure zero impact.

Once I dropped a brand-new FFX-2 PS2 disc on a hard tile floor and cried.

Then you do realise that your OCD is the issue and not the person selling the item, right?

I hope you're consulting a therapist. I don't mean that as an insult, merely as a suggestion that OCD, like the psychological condition it is, particularly in the severity it affects you, is something that needs to be treated. I have minor OCD issues myself, but they never go that far, merely cause a bit of anxiety now and again.

It's why I only buy new online. No exceptions. The last time I bought a game used, the guy said it was "like new", and the thing was so bad it looked deliberately destroyed, and then the seller accused me of lying and refused to take it back.

Note the part where it says "Returns accepted". Even in the million to one case placing the disc on the floor damaged it beyond repair you're fine. Also if you're having it shipped from the UK to Australia if it is damaged it'll be from the trip not that.

OCD as in Obsession over Compact Discs?
Ba-Dum-Tss

But seriously, placing the disc on a carpet for a single photo(not even dragging it around the carpet) won't scratch it. You're more likely to scratch the disc inside the console's disc drive. In any case you should be more worried about what the seller might have done with the disc off-camera.

Also, it says that returns are accepted, so if you don't like it you can return it.

A vaguely relevant question: Is beyond good and evil any good?

I was debating buying the HD one?

that is 'very good'. if it was sold as 'new' then I would expect to see the game/DVD still in the cellophane wrapping but i see 'very good' as it's been used yet there are no scratches or anything on the disk. very good does not mean unused
