When was the last time you paid attention to a games boxtext?

While watching the first half minute of Yahtzee's Other M review I wondered:

When was the last time you paid attention to what's written on the backside of the gamebox?

I can't remember when I actually wanted to read what it says, but sometimes when I buy a game in a store and still have half an hour on the train until I'm home, I read it just because of boredom.

The same time I bought a movie for its boxtext: never.

Back when I was a young impressionable child of the PS2 era and I never looked at reviews before buying a game. The back of the box was all I had to go on.

I actually got a really good library of games for my PS2, which I bought almost entirely because of the box that contained it. The wonderful games that I had unwittingly purchased were wonders such as Radiata Stories, Phantom Brave, Grandia III, and Monster Rancher 4. When I say box it was a combination of the box art and the back of the box description.

Although there is one game I regret not getting because it had such terrible box art and that is Ico. The box art in America makes it look like absolute poop. x3
