When was the last time you walked away from a game?

I was in HMV today and I had a go on Rango, the game adaptation of the movie with the lizard. It was genuinely awful; I played for about two minutes and walked out of the store.

I know this is a movie tie-in and therefore almost required to suck, but I've been out of the gaming loop for about a year and a half now so I can't make any claims about other games. My new 360 arrives on friday so I was also wondering which terrible games have been released in the last year so I can avoid buying them.

Mafia 2 springs to mind. Crikey, it's design and structure is just terrible; 90% of the game is just driving monotonously slowly across the entire map to trigger a handful of lacklustre missions.

That would be Serious Sam HD: First Encounter.

It had it's fun moments. Like when you get attacked by 10 of those big bull things at once.

But most of the time it was just a matter of shooting one enemy at a time while strafing. Boring and repetitive as all hell. Eventually I reached a level ("Road to Thebes") where I couldn't find where to go next and realized that I didn't care enough to find out.

I'm probably going to cop a lot of flak for this but honestly, Fallout 3. The game was way too bland and boring and the world was just way too bleak for me. Yes, I'm well aware that it's post nuclear apocalypse but I never enjoyed post-apocalyptic settings. I like color in my games, like Oblivion or a gorgeous JRPG. I'm actually looking forward to Firefall for this very reason, the world looks lively and even a bit beautiful.

Dead Rising 2. Monotonous. Boring. Terrible port. Terrible storyline. Terrible AI.

Half Life, Half Life 2, HL 2: Episode 1, and HL 2: Episode 2

I got unbearably motion sick from playing the games. Got decent ways through each game, but had to lay down for a couple hours each time after playing for a few minutes. Eventually I got sick of it and put the games away. They were fun otherwise, though.

I've never gotten motion sick from any other game to date.

Don't play deadspace 1.
Or Kane and Lynch 2 if reviews are anything to go by.

One game, and one game only.

Too Human.

That.....thing, is a monstrosity. I manage to get myself to play 'till the final battle, then just said fuck it, and walked away. I really, really, really regretted buying it, and wish the memories would disappear from my mind. Goddamit.

Gears of War. I actually liked the game, but there came a point when I realized that there was no way I was gonna finish this game. I'm just no good at shooters.

Kane & Lynch & Serious Sam HD I agree with.

The rest of the above posts are mostly a matter of opinion as a majority of the players like them.

(Especially the Half Life 2 related post! :D)

Didn't like it for the same reason myself. A friend recommended I try this - http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2456 [Greenworld]. See what you think.

Hmm, I think it would be lost Odyssey. It always happens with me and JRPGs (except pokemon), I'll be playing and like it right up to a certain point at which it just completely stops being fun and a no longer give 2 shits.
