ive had it and so have alot of others.... that really annoying moment when your about to finish a really hard level or a really annoying boss fight and your either about to strike the fatal blow/gun shot when it freezes!!

this happened to me whilst i was playing bioshock 2 when i was about to kill the first big sister during the campaign i had pulled the trigger on my shottie and bullets flew hit and she was semi standing with a massive blood splatter coming out of her chest when it froze that way!! i was ever so pissed as she was really hard to beat with no upgraded weapons and only 2 different plasmids. share your worst console moment!.

Had it happen to me twice yesterday while playing Uncharted 2.
Fortunately, the game's checkpoint system is (for the lack of better words) fucking awesome and it usually brought me to the exact same point in the game.

Most of the freezes you encounter are not generated by the consoles but by the games. All current generation hardware and operation systems are quite stable by themselves, the games on the other hand are not.

That's the worst. I usually leave my Xbox on for a few minutes while I plead with the gaming gods to let me not restart an entire level... It never works.

The first time I did the Agatha's Song quest in Fallout 3 I had a tough time. I hated going through the creepy, broken vault and it took me an hour to find the violin. I had finished, obtained the violin and sheet music, and all I had to do was leave the vault and fast travel back to Agatha for my experience and awesome magnum pistol. My xbox froze during the loading screen every time I tried to leave. I found a way to fix it, but I was really pissed of for a while.

I somehow got into a fight with a Super Mutant Master at level 4, I took it down with a series of lucky headshots and critical hits! Hello, Mr. Minigun, I'll just head over to you and----------

After that, I started saving rather obsessively in Fallout 3. I think I accumulated more than a gigabyte of save files in the end.

the crippling glitch in the PC version of me2 where you can't fight the reaper's core cause it's "too blue."

god i hate PC gaming.

You do realize not all PC games are that bad right? Mass Effect II itself on pc was just fucking awful... The amount of glitches that made it into the final game astounds me, the way they gutted the story of the first game as well as almost all the RPG elements.
The interesting characters were the only thing keeping the game together.

I promise you... most other PC games aren't that bad. Have you tried Call of Cthulu? or Penumbra? Both are very pleasant surprises and not demanding on graphics at all.

My PS3 has frozen on me 5 times in total. Every single time it was while I was playing online and all I had to do to fix it was restart the console.

It's annoying when it freezes, but I'll usually just do the part of the game that I lost again, unless it's a spectacularly bad game that I really couldn't stand repeating any part of. Saves are often enough in most games these days that losing a little bit of progress isn't really a big deal anymore.

Usually I'll sit there for a few minutes, praying I don't have to redo what I just did. I once made this long run in I Wanna Be The Guy, and I hadn't saved since the beginning. I had just gotten out of the Mike Tyson fight, jumped out of the water, and shot the save point. The bullet was flying towards the save point when it froze. The bullet was still in midair. I just sat there, wondering, "Why me?" Then I turned off my computer and didn't play the game for a week or so.
