Does anyone know? The games comes out tomorrow and even IGN doesn't have a review for it. Usually reviews come out several days before a game comes out. I'm wondering if Activision is pulling a warfighter on this.
Your estimates are a little off, try closer to 20 million.hoboman29 said:It could be that the devs know that people are going to buy it and aren't worried with reviews. Let's face it every year about 1-2 million copies of Call of Duty are sold and at this point most people know if they are going to buy it or not.
Actually, they're usually at least a day before if not even earlier.Netrigan said:Most game reviews go live on release day, although there's often one or two print reviews that hit a bit early.
It's not an uncommon practice, as the reviews often act as unpaid advertising and they want all of them hitting at the same time to declare the game/movie/book is now in stores.
It's when they don't supply review copies (such as Medal of Honor: Doorfighter) is when you know they know they're going to get trashed and don't want a bunch of negative publicity on release day.
I forgot about Black Ops II as well, but I'm sure a lot of other people haven't. I remember the massive hype train and all of the ads that came out before the release of Modern Warfare 2. Now Activision doesn't really advertise COD anymore, knowing it will sell ungodly amounts of copies. It's kind of funny and sad at the same time.Fappy said:Holy crap that is coming out tomorrow? No one I know has mentioned it at all.

A review doesn't change your mind? How do you make up your mind on whether or not you should buy a game?Aaron Sylvester said:if you're not a fan then...well, a review wouldn't change your opinion or buy the game.

I know that I'll not buy this one, but that's only because I just hate the way Activision set higher prices for their games, and don't lower the price for years (Black Ops is still $60!).
I forgot to mention that I use Steam. I could get it for a cheaper price in certain stores, but I'd rather wait for it to drop below $10 on Steam. 40 euros is about 50 dollars according to google [https://www.google.co.il/search?q=40+euros+in+dollars&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USK84 said:Say wha?Doom972 said:A review doesn't change your mind? Here in Europe BO1 has been lowered for about a year to 40 Euro´s.
39,99 or sumtin'.
I thought THAT was way too expensive, but 60 dollars?....sheesh....
I meant change your opinion on buying THIS particular game. Of course I go through all the views before buying any game/product, but Call of Duty is one of those franchises which you either love or you hate. A hater will never like it, and a lover will never hate it, reviews are irrelevant.Doom972 said:A review doesn't change your mind? I don't think that most gamers have a strong opinion either way. Most people I know are indifferent about it. The CoD series isn't "THE WORST THING EVER?", but it's no Half-Life either.Aaron Sylvester said:I meant change your opinion on buying THIS particular game.
