where do all ya'll escapists stand on hitch-hiking?

i personally don't think it's dangerous if you can chat up the driver and get an "a-ok" feeling.
i've successfully hitch-hiked twice and it was fun, i actually made new friends both times, and when i say "successfully" i mean that i was looking for a ride and someone was nice enough to offer me one... i don't know, maybe i was just one of the lucky ones, so what do you all think?

Im pretty awkward around people i dont know, so getting in some random persons car for a long journey is pretty much something i would never do.
If you wanna do it though go for it, although it never ends well in horror films.

I've never thumbed it out, but I have accepted lifts from strangers when they offer. I don't drive, so I don't know if I'd offer them a lift. Maybe if the look harmless enough...
