The Silence. Most probably because they reminded me too much of Slenderman *shiver*

The thing from the episode Midnight (still my favorite) is actually very deceivingly creepy, because you know nothing about it. You never see what it truly was, what it wanted, why it wanted anything... And it turned a group of rational people against each other so easily, and defeated the Doctor.

Yeah, the creature from Midnight is the last thing I want to deal with.

Most of them used to terrify me as a young child.

The Krynoid (from Seeds of Doom) was the first thing I saw and left me with nightmares for weeks.

Not quite as scary now.

Of the recent crop though, The Vashta Nerada. While the Quantum Angels are scary, you always know where they are.

And the new Cybermen are nothing on the old ones. Not the Troughton era, but the Baker era.

That could be due to the end of Earthshock though.

With the Vashta Nerada...how do you know they're not what's making up the black of this post?

Pretty much just the weeping angels. Although I will admit the creature from Midnight is kinda creepy.

Alot of what Moffat actually writes is just creepy as hell. The angels, the silence, the Vashta Nerada...

The Midnight being is good too. Might've only existence as a think of no real substance, which is the hardest thing to fight at all.

This one, definately. I still creep my friends out by saying it to them ^_^

Also, I thought the weeping angels were really good, and really creepy, but not in the episode where they showed them moving. That just ruined the creepy factor, in my opinion.

To be fair, nobody was watching. They only thought they were being watched. It makes sense in context.

The Ood.

Because they themselves are not at all monsters, something (I can't remember what exactly) makes them all go batshit crazy and demonic.
Thats a different kind of horrible, even for a Doctor Who monster.

The Weeping Angels. Cripes, just thinking about those make me shudder...
Also have to agree with IBlackKitel. When the Ood went all crazy. *shudders*

Vashta Nerada. That scene where they are all in the library and he says something like "I have a very important question. There are 5 of us correct? Then why are there six people in the room?". Fell off the sofa.

Second place to: Midnight. That...thing creeped the hell out of me.

Runner up prizes to: Weeping Angels, The Empty Child and The Silence

Bit of trivia, that story was made several years before Alien came out.

The Weeping Angels were scary in Blink, but they were ridiculous when they came back and I can't take them at all seriously anymore.

IMHO, it's not so much the monsters, as the directing. Troughton era cybermen and Ice Warriors were filmed in a scarier way than they were later on, I think.

I have a T-shirt saying exactly that. The funny(weird) thing is that the gasmask also effects people who haven't seen it. Just something about the weird eyes... [http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/sounds/child1.mp3]
