Which is the better buy, Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3?

If you want to be a one man army, MW3. If you want team based combat, BF3; I'm guessing this is the general consesus of most neutral people.

MW3 is a proven formula that is great fun, with a fantastic (in a campy Michael Bay way) campaign.
BF3 is a great multilayer game, with a shit campaign.
As a person who prefers single player experiences, I would recommend MW3. If you like twitchy, fast paced multi (i.e. Call of Duty), then buy MW3. If you like team-based multi (in which you actually have to work with your team), go play BF3.

Depends on what you want. I have both, and they're both good games in their own areas. If you want great single player, go with MW3. BF3's single was meh at best, but MW3's single is great, in my opinion.
As far as multi goes, I personally like BF3's alot better, but that'll depend on what you like. Basically, if you liked Modern Warfare 2, and want more of the same but with more polish, you'll like MW3, and it is a lot of fun. But if you're into objective-based gameplay or vehicle gameplay, I'd go with BF3.
Ideally, rent them both and see which one you like, because they are NOTHING alike.
P.S. Actually, if you're looking for single player, don't go with either, since BF3's isn't worth 60 bucks, and MW3 you can shoot through in six hours, easy.

BF3 is definitely worth a buy (at least for the MP). It's a great warfare game and if you liked BC2 you will probably enjoy it. Battlefield 3 tries to be a great shooter but also brings all the joys of Frostbite 2.0 and all other great Battlefield tricks too.
If you want CoD, grab CoD 4 out of the bargain bin. Much better then anything after that.

Modern Warfare 3 is a fast paced arcade game with too many campers.
Battlefield 3 is a slower, more realistic game where you will constantly be killed by people laying in bushes that you never even saw.
And also, it's pretty much the same as all the other Battlefield games, so I don't know why idiots call MW3 unoriginal when BF3 isn't either.

Since you're buying on console MW3 isn't AS horrible. Tho friends of mine that have bought it declare it a (lousy) MW2 clone with more or same amounts of bs. I haven't played it myself but i won't get it either. BF3 on the other hand, which i've played since beta and now the full game since release is wonderful. It's not flawless, campaign is ok if a little a insubstantial. But the multiplayer is great. Excellent gameplay, team based combat, beautiful graphics, fairly good balance(besides conquest Metro, that's just redonkelous).Richard Humphries said:
