Christmas time is almost here and Santa will be getting me a Laptop! I think Santa needs a few tips on what sort of Laptop I want. Unfortunately I'm not Tech Savvy and am just as confused.

I'm looking for a decently durable, powerful laptop for under or slightly over $1, 000 dollars US. I want to be able to play modern or semi-modern games on this without lag or severe slow down. I also want it to like up to the name of laptop and fit on my lap without crushing my legs.

At the moment I'm looking at something like this (Link to Ebay)
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SATELLITE-PRO-P500-Model-PSPGSA-027003-8GB-1TB-18-4-BlueRay-HDMI-/200681604253?pt=AU_comp_laptop&hash=item2eb98e449d

What do you guys think?

The blu-ray player is fine but
- the core processor speed is laughable, youre looking for something in the 2.5+ mark, check out that it is an Athlon II (for AMD) or an I5 (for intel) or above.
- I dont see a dedicated video card, and the massive amount of RAM is not going to cut it out if it doesnt have a dedicated (note: NOT a chipset) graphics card (youre looking for a 6600-series for ATI or a 500-something for Nvidia, check that it has above 256Mb of Card memory (different from RAM memory, it must have both).

something like this?: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Battalion_101_W170HR_Gaming_Laptop

Was that helpfull?

That should help me narrow down my search, thanks. I'm not sure I like the Battalion though, can you recommend anything else?

Edit: What about this?
