I just realized today that my best friend reminds me of Squidward. He has a pronounced nose and speaks in a monotonous, nasally drawl when annoyed.

My best friend reminds me of James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2 in some respects.
He quite looks like him, and pretty defensive (in a good way!) when you talk to him about something he's passionate about. He's lightning-quick at protecting something he cares about, no matter the danger.
Generally though, even though sometimes he's prone to anger; he's quiet and underneath his tough exterior, quite vulnerable.

I think my best friend (from what I could remember long ago) reminded me of Data from The Goonies.
He reminds me of Anders from Dragon Age 2 (Exept less hitting on people) Or Joe from Mafia 2....yeh either way we ARE AWESOME!!!
I have several best friends, but my best friend in the states is a huge man mountain (comes with playing American football I guess) but he is quiet, but when he does speak, he reminds me of Frylock from Aqua teen hunger force, as he is level headed and a science nut. It's a shame he can't fire laser beams from his eyes.
My best friend here in Britain (who is another American) reminds me of my mother. In fact, I have mentioned this to her. She makes sure I eat healthily and stuff like that. If I get too stressed about something she will calm me down and help me put it in some kind of perspective.

You know the ridiculously stereotypical best-friend characters from harem animes that are always hitting on girls but always getting rejected, and then wondering why, then getting in to fights with the main character, or generally being the extra comic relief? Ya, that.
