What's stopping you doing something else for those 34 seconds? Go read couple of webcomics while it loads, like xkcd, then alt-tab back when you hear the video starting. It's what I'd do if I could watch the vids here.

I agree with this statement. Alternatively, you could stop complaining about it and pony up the 20 bucks for Publisher's Club. That way you get no ads, and also the video is in shiny HD. And you are officially awesome. I read that somewhere on the site, so it must be true.
