Forget the single player. We all know it wasn't the draw. It was the 32 player online that made that game awesome. In fact, it was one force ability that made this the greatest Star Wars game ever: grip. NOTHING beats gripping someone and tossing them off the edge of a building, and then them using grip on you as they fall, yanking you off the edge as well for a midair lightsaber duel. That's my number one memory in gaming.

I dunno, perhaps I'll get murdered for this but I really enjoyed the single player campaign... I've been playing through Jedi Academy and not getting the same buzz as I did playing Jedi Outcast, though I have to say that the Final Dessan was far too easy with force speed.

The first big mission was the hardest and then it just got better once you owned a lightsaber. I've never played the multiplayer, I might one day, though in saying that the Force Unleashed is probably going to blow everyones shit out.

I beat throught it but have to admit that I used cheats. The lightsaber fights where fucked up the arse.

Fun game but I swear that some of the puzzles where borderline glitch exploit.

Forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn, but was starting a new thread for this really necessary? Isn't there some other thread this would have fit into?

I just loved force-shoving people to the ground (noobs didn't put any points in push or pull) and blasting the hell out of them with a stormtrooper rifle. Grip wasn't really a problem for me because I was usually fast enough to shove them to break it and I always felt dirty doing it to other people.

Once you got to Cloud City, the game was wonderful. Constant saber duels and your force powers are finally starting to be really fun to use. Before that it was mediocre at best with a few of the levels being downright bad. Sadly, Cloud City was about the game's halfway point.

I liked this game, but I did feel the light saber fights were a big mash and hop-fest - they sort of lacked the feel of the portrayal of light saber fights in the movies. Still, multiplayer was decent and honestly, I didn't mind the single player campaign. I've always liked the action games I buy to have a healthy dose of story.

This thread is blasphemy! Jedi Outcast is pretty good despite brainless AI and some bugs, and yes multiplayer sabering is quite a joy. But. Best SW license game?

People. People. Let's not forget... X-wing Vs. TIE Fighter. The one true king.

Heh...

Played it nearly 9 hours straight in LAN matches.
Yes I know I sound like an overhyped fanboy, but it was a public holiday.

What I liked was the AI in multiplayer, it wasn't as bad as I expected.
That and several AIs had different combat tactics or styles.
Lando for example is good with a pistol. With a lightsaber only match we found that Lando bots are teamkillers. Yes what I'm saying is true, if you turn on team damage. Lando back-swings his saber into the nearest teammate when in a 2 vs 3 or a 2 vs 2 situation.
Even in the awesomeness of a 32 player match he can prevent any form of massed melee by slaying or crippling is teammates.
Tavion can actually hold off quite well and that fat blue idiot is like Lando, but even less capable of hurting his team.

Oh and the game had some kind of storlyine or plot between bouts of brief combat and Jedi moments.

Ahhh Kyle Katarn, I love his voice so much, I thoroughly enjoyed Jedi Knight II, Academy was terrible lets not pretend.

Who wouldn't enjoy punching in the realistic combat cheat so you could choke a Stromtrooper, throw your lightsabre into his squirming legs, lop him in half then force lightning his corpse as you cackle to yourself only to force push the two parts of him off a high ledge.

I forgot to take my pills that week.

While I did like Jedi Knight II, I think that Jedi Academy was way more fun.
It's a game where chosing Light Side/Dark Side really *DID* have effects to the gameplay.

I loved the last 3 levels of the game. If you chose to be a Light Jedi you will have 30-40 allies versus Dark Jedis, If you chose to be a Dark Jedi, you will have no allies an dyou'll have to slaughter 30-40 Light jedis *PLUS* all the Dark Jedis.
It's awesome when you're up against 5-6 Jedis.

Also the final boss battle is different depending on your choice.
Going the way of the Dark Jedi is hard as BALLS to beat though.

The game has a well balanced set of Jedi Powers which I like. I didn't like that in Jedi Knight II that you BOTH get dark and light powers. That just didn't make sense to me.

It's just sad that The Force UNleashed is going to be console only.
Expect the game to be to the bone dumbed-down, max 6-8 hours of gameplay and a console exclusive only. Sad to think that the entire Jedi Knight seies that was born on the PC is abandoned like this.

Thought of something else: it was great fun taking dark rage and just running around with the stun prod.

'Hopeless_Noob was brutally stunned by Darth_Neep.'

Brings back memories.

As far as academy goes, the SP was on the whole worse than JK2 strangely enough. I think it came down to the level design and the fact that the story was absolute garbage. The multiplayer was actually better IMO. The extra saber attacks and better balanced and implemented force powers made it more fun for me.
