Who is your favorite game reviewer(s)?

First off, yes I know we all love Yahtzee, but lets just say he doesn't exist, who would you say is your favorite game reviewer, be it webcam or written reviews, who do you turn to if you want information on a game?

Me its a draw for me. Between the Angry Video game Nerd and the Wiiviewer.

I like Angry Video Game Nerd because, well he is the nerd, and he is a good person to listen too, however I think its debatable whether he is a reviewer, on the grounds he only reviews bad games (the rare good one every once in a while) and that they are Old Games. But he is funny and awesome to watch don't get me wrong.

Now the Wiiviewer is a man who, with his sons reviews games, Wii games if you didn't guess by now, and he did something I'm surprised to say and admit, He made me realize that the Wii has fun titles, I kid you not, I would play Super Man 64 before I kid you about something like this, just watch him and see. He is funny and he is the kind of dad who you wish yours was.

This, Yahtzee and especially AVGN I watch mostly for the entertainment value. There aren't really any reviewers I go to for video game reviews. If I want a review for a specific game I go look for one, other than that I ignore scores games get basically entirely.

There was a guy who wrote reviews for Disgaea [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/5477-Review-Disgaea-DS] and Civ4 Colonization [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/5316-Review-Civilization-IV-Colonization] on this very site. The guy's a genius. I hung on his every word while I read those reviews.

I gotta say my thoughts are genuinely in-line with the reviewers over at gametrailers.com. They are pretty articulate when it comes to picking apart a game, without ever seeming petty or exaggerated. I always check out what they have to think about a game before going out and spending some cash

I'd have to say Yahtzee. I do NOT limit myself to his reviews, but instead of endless hype, I get all the flaws of a game outlined in a tight and hilariously satirical package. This is preferable to a reviewer who glosses over the rough bits of a new release (*cough*MW2*cough*) simply because it's the next biggest title.

Having said that: I do my research into a game with both published, and user reviews.

i acually dont enjoy yahtzee, partially because of how overplayed and over used his stuff is, and how everyone immediately reflects his opinions after a review to the point that it gets tiresome, but i dont enjoy his jokes or his humor, just dont get a laugh out of it.

but for a serious reviewer? i tend to mix it up, always user reviews for the most part,either from gamefaqs or somewhere on here, as they go in depth on what is actually good isntead of giving away the illusion "THE NEXT GREAT MASTERPIECE OF BEAUTIFUL COOKIENESS!" -IGN

uhh...okay? that tells me jack shit about the game.

I'm not sure about specific reviewer, but Gaming Age is my favourite site, and even though Classic Game Room HD guy sucks as a reviewer, he does review games nobody else bothers to check out. I swear he buys everything he can get his hands on, and happens to love anything that's a game, so no real critique will come from him, but he does give a teensy bit more info than you'd get from a trailer.

I really liked Jeff Gerstmann, before he got fired. I haven't seen any of his stuff since then, though.

I also like some of Susan Arendt's reviews. They amuse me.
