Of course. All the down trodden masses listen to metal. Why? Because metal is so much more than a genre of music. It is a community, a lifestyle. I have tried listening to a lot of different kinds of music. Everything from classical, to country, to rock, to pop. And nowhere have I found a more loyal group of followers, a more intelligent group of followers, a more open minded and caring group of followers, than those who believe in the church of Drop C tuning. I recently went to a Korn concert. I stopped no less than 5 fights, got my glasses smashed, and received a concussion. Why? Rock fans who thought they were hardcore by heading in to the mosh pit. I saw some girl puke up blood cause she fell down and no one helped her up. Not two weeks later, I went to see Amon Amarth. Met 2 new friends, and only saw one person get hurt, and no fights. Why? Metal fans give a shit about each other and the bands give a shit about their fans.

Oh, and I love Five Finger Death Punch and Another Black Day right now.

The die-hard metal fans on here will call me a fake or something like that but I mainly like metalcore/deathcore stuff like Converge and Suicide Silence as well as hardcore stuff like This Is Hell and Architects but I also love old-school heavy metal like Led Zep and Black Sabbath and I loooove Motley Crue. I also like some modern metal like Trivium but yeah, Metalcore is what I really love

I love my metal. Mainly Death, Folk and Symphonic Metal, but a sprinkling of other genres too.

I was a metalhead when I was a teenager, but the second I discovered Merzbow, Whitehouse and Sutcliffe Jugend I realised that metal was not going to cut it for me as an adult, I needed something harder. So I guess metal was my "gateway" music into power electronics.

These days I consume metal like other people consume easy listening music. I might put it on occasionally if I have some housework to do, or if I just want something nice on in the background, but I don't really give it my undivided attention.

Same here. Except I discovered Avant-Garde Jazz and Drone rather than getting into stuff like Merzbow (who I do enjoy in small doses.)
Nowadays I put Suffocation on if I want to listen to something completely non-offensive to my ears while I'm off doing something else.

By the way, speaking of Merzbow, did you hear the stuff he did with SunnO)))? Hectic stuff.

I hate most metal (I like some of Avenge Sevenfold and a select few songs), but for the most part I can't stand the incessant loud mash of music. It just sounds tuneless, and I'm sure that many of you disagree, but that's my opinion.
