I get cable included with my rent, but I must confess I almost never use it. Is cable passe? Are we a society of internet only now?

Pretty much... TV in general really isn't all that good and I tend to only keep it on for background noise. Generally, I keep it on Comedy Central, though they've finally given me a reason to watch TV regularly with the new Futurama episode each Thursday. Other than that, though, I don't really watch TV at all.

I was glad when I finally dumped cable. Saved a shit-ton of money. Now I just watch everything I wanna see with netflix. And without commercials.

Hardly. I dont eat dinner infront of the computer, nor do I sit on a big comfy couch with a remote for the computer, nor is my screen as big as a TV and is good for multiple people. The internet is fine for one person use by themselves, but watching with others, or watching on a screen bigger than your average monitor is best left to a TV, and thus requires something to put the shows on it, such as cable. Plus old people.

Well, I'm either reading or gaming. Cable was never a real necessity.

I've been asking this question around, and I've been getting a lot of the "I leave it on in the background" kind of answers. Is that a popular choice?

Eh. I find that watching TV shows online is better for many reasons. For one, no commercials. But most importantly, I find that when I have cable TV, I tend to watch a show I like, then just sit there trying to find whatever other show is good enough to spend my time on. So I end up sitting there wasting time on stuff that's just passable when I should be focusing on the stuff that is truly good enough to spend my time on.

What are the benefits of cable? The only thing I can see, since you can find just about anything online, is that feeling of being connected to other people doing the same things as you. Aside from that, comfort? Not sitting at the computer? I dunno...

Uhh, when I don't feel like playing a game I will usually leave it on the discovery channel or the comedy network while I read or browse the internet.

Eh, I like it. Having a DVR helps a lot though, makes it so there is always something to watch. It would be my easiest form of entertainment to give up if I had to though.

Yeah, fuck Cable. Deadpool is so much cooler.
I felt the two of them were at their best when together. Deadpool lightened up the stuffy seriousness of Cable, while Cable provided a solid foundation plot wise which Deadpool could lampoon. Their bromance and dialogue was also both funny and touching at times.

hmmmm, I don't think I've gone out of my way to watch T.V. in at least half a year. I just don't see much of a point in watching big long non interactive cut scenes filled with product placement.
